Yes, but I'm not about to spend $8.00 on frozen pizza. The other things I buy are things I actually want. I don't care about food. I look at food like I do gasoline for a car. Sure, you can buy the most expensive gasoline. It won't you do any better, though, than the cheap stuff. Why spend $8.00 on pizza when I can get the same thing for under $5.00? I go cheap because there are other things I'd rather be spending money. Food ain't one of them. I will go out and spend some money on a nice meal out. But that's the extent of my expensive food spending. I mostly eat the cheap shit because I don't care. I've always been that way. I know how to stretch a dollar food wise so I can get the things I really want to spend money on. Again, food just ain't one of them.

Hahah! Same..although I had a few teachers trying to get me into the Coast Guard Academy.

There is no greater honor than serving your country in uniform. Since you're in NY, maybe take her to West Point for a little tour. Perhaps take in a football game. It will help gauge her interest and she'll see other cadets.

Then ask her if she'd like to be saluted. Most will say yes. Solid motivator.

I'm sure today and tomorrow will make up for it anyway, they've been installing new software for us for weeks now and even though I worked with it in Kentucky where it seemed to go fairly flawless it seems to be problematic up here for some reason. Oh well, they forced me to step down to a different position so I don't have to deal with micromanaged BS anymore.

My daughter and I talked all the way to school this morning, mostly about her future and her hopes and dreams, she wants to up start going to the gym again. We stopped because we found ourselves mainly only doing cardio which we could do at home for free. She wants to work on strength training now and has been talking about these boot camp-esque programs suddenly. I think she's starting to gain an interest in following her mom and my foot steps and joining the Army when she graduates (she still has 7 years so that's a long time coming).

Go Army! I enlisted myself between 85-88 (I was an E-4) , could do three years back then. The plan was to enlist to get money for college, which is exactly what I did. I got out and used the GI Bill/College Fund plus some state grants (for being a veteran) to pay for college. But PA s*cks when going to a state school....expensive as all hell as an instate resident....so I still had to take out student loans totaling over $20,000. Eventually graduated from Penn State in 1993.....senior year was the best 2 years of my life!!

You should care and it most definitely matters. An unhealthy diet, and cheap processed food is among the most unhealthy, will catch up with you eventually. The body is supposed to be a temple, not a dumpster. You only get one body and it's worth taking care of.

Obviously, frozen pizza is not exactly a healthy food, but, like with most things in life, moderation is the key.

I've eaten this way all my life practically. I've had no issues, health wise, that were not already there from birth. I think I'll do just fine.

I never once thought about joining the military. But even if I did, I wouldn't be enlisted. I was too scrawny at 18. I barely even looked 10 when I was that age. Not to mention my hearing issues and that fact that I was all but legally blind. I couldn't be all that I could be. I could help military by supporting our boys and buying war bonds. Among other things. I always found it fascinating that one of the most requested items from our boys overseas is condoms.

Criterion had me take some photos of my disc damage/scratches before they send out my replacements.

Now the wait begins. Paris, Texas looked amazing in 4K until it froze up!

I hope that you indeed do just fine, but many people learn the lessons, and consequences, of a poor diet the hard way.

You are healthy until you are not; a bad diet can hasten the latter. I will get off my now. Bon appetit.

I hear ya. I really do, but I don't have too many problems and I've got healthy genes. Besides, we're all going to go someday. Eating healthy won't change that. So, I say live life now while you can. Why spend it denying yourself things you love? Should I do half of what I do? No, but It won't stop me much. I really cannot afford to get new Suzanne Vega next week when it drops. But I love her and I will because of that. I also need my hair cut but I really cannot afford to do that either. I will though because I will feel better doing so. That's the other thing.

Suffering from depression and the things that come with it changes perspective. I have to sometimes do things to bring me some manufactured joy. There's very little in life these days that bring me happy. Do I need to do ALL that I do. No, and I'm working on that. Failing but still working on it. Life is a series of mistakes. We don't get it right the first time. We often it get wrong for a quite long while before we do get it right. Listening to Phish's Hoist, eating lunch, and skipping work. I'm feeling lyrical but it's all mushy. I don't like my writing much when being inspired by Phish. I love Phish, but I don't think they're lyrically great. And it doesn't really fit me.

That's a first. You know, I'm starting to wonder if you've got squirrels in your 4K player. I once had a cockroach in my old DVD/VHS player. I saw it go across the diplay area.

Perhaps, but I don't think so. That place ended up becoming infested with all sorts of things. My fault totally. I got sick two years in a row with the flu and just got VERY lazy.

Got this thing installed (finally arrived Saturday) and going through the initial setup.

But just a manual setup with an SPL for now as I'm not sure when I'll be able to get to the dirac calibration.

Thanks. But you know, after digging through the menus, there really isn't a whole lot to it. And there isn't a full-screen OSD, either. Everything is configurable using the short-message pop-up, which is just 2 lines on the TV . It's taking some getting used to for sure.

The unit's large front display is where you see the bigger picture with menus/sub menus/settings, however it's all text. I almost feel jipped. But I am having fun and damn does it sound good! The things that matter.

Drinking some coffee and watching a quick AT thru-hike video before I clean out my truck for my road trip back to Kentucky tonight/tomorrow. I plan on leaving the second I get out of work tonight, I'll be picking up the kiddo from Grandma's and getting on the road at around 1am.
