Almost 10am and I think I'm going to go catch a showing of Thunderbolts. If I'm smart, I'll get an XL popcorn and get the free refill on another day. After that I'll probably head to Costco to get my cheap soda, maybe a strawberry sundae too. I may hit up a motorcycle shop that I've visited a few times with the most recent time being just last week. They have a couple bikes that are on my list and they currently have a 2024 model on sale for $1,300 off. I want to save up some more for more of a down payment and then I'd like to pay the remaining balance with my credit card. I'm pretty sure my credit card from Chase won't start having interest charged until next year. Before I were to make a big purchase like that, I'd call them just to confirm. And I may not even get a second bike. I certainly don't need one. But I want one ![]() |

Waiting for this day to end. It's gone by so fast, but now that's it close to the end, I am going stir crazy.

Dear God!!! How can you conceivably eat popcorn without something to drink? Doesn't your mouth get dry or thirsty? I know mine does when I eat popcorn. Or peanut butter. Dear God!!! Don't tell me you eat peanut butter straight too. BLACH!!!! |

Had to take another night off of work for parenting duties, I don't think this new weekday night shift is going to work for me unless I can get some reliable support around here. And of course they still won't let me transfer to a day shift. Sad but after 10 years (feels like a lot longer) I may be calling it quits with this company.

It was a long day today. I left home at about 10am and I just got home a little before 11:30pm. Watched Thunderbolts which I really enjoyed and then got my soda and strawberry sundae at Costco. I went to this motorcycle shop that I went to just last week and browsed a bit. Decided I'd meet up with my buddy at Cycle Gear at 7pm and then we'd go for a ride afterward. I got over there early and hit up the nearby Indian dealer. Shot the breeze with a fellow rider in the Cycle Gear parking lot and finally met up with my friend at about 7:25pm. He had his car so we went back to his place to get his bike. I was hoping he would still want to go and would want to be out for awhile. He asked if I was willing to ride kind of late and he was thinking a couple hours. That was good news for me as I would have normally been home doing stuff. Staying out was definitely worth it. Anyway, will probably surf a bit and then call it a night. Have a VA appointment tomorrow at 9am and then it's back to work at 10pm. |

I could not sleep tonight.
Me: I think I will make a pot of chili. People: It is almost summer. Me: And? Doctors: Your type 2 diabetic now. You have to watch what you eat. Me: Ok. Fine. A small pot of chili then. My Mom was Type 2 for 30 years and could still eat the good stuff too. Just had to keep an eye of the blood sugar and portion size. T-Minus 9.5 hours until launch. |

Submitting my resume for a position at a USPS sorting/distribution center about an hour away. I'm not sure what to expect but I've worked in warehouses pretty much my entire adult life (outside of retail/fast food) so I assume the atmosphere won't be much different. They're constantly advertising that they're hiring so I'm hoping for good news. It'll mean a longer commute but would be closer if I decide to sublease my Ex's apartment once she moves into her family home in PA. She's been talking about doing so for months, but our daughter wants to stay in the school district she's in now.

So about a week ago I took a longer (1.25 hour) Lyft ride and dropped my passenger off in Steubenville, OH. That's a part of Ohio I haven't really gone before. It sits on the Ohio River, right across from West Virginia. So once I dropped him off, I decided I should hit up a gas station. I needed gas, had to use the bathroom, and get a snack as it was a late ride home for me. The gas station I like going to was nearby, ten minutes away, in West Virginia. And I love me some West Virginia. It's a beautiful state and I could see myself owning a cabin there someday if I ever become rich.
Anyways, during the 10 minute drive to the gas station, I drove past this bridge and it looked amazing. I love bridges, of all kinds and size, and this one lit up at night over the river looked special. Here's some pics. These aren't mine. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Those are some great pictures. I love bridges. Especially the architecture of them all (sort of an architecture buff). We've got some really good bridges here. I don't think they are as a pretty as that one though. It's a hot take, but I think there are far better bridges than the Golden Gate Bridge. It's just the most famous. And let's not talk about the bridges in NY. YELCH!!! They'll do in a pinch, but pretty they do not always make. New York bridges are like Rosie O'Donnell. An eye sore that goes on for miles and miles and miles. |
