That's a good one! I mean, Paramount did give us Deep Impact, so anything is possible.

I imported the UK Blu way back in the day as that was the only way to get it in ‘07. Just checked and Paramount didn’t release it in the States until 2011. I am long overdue for a new disc/upgrade. A 4K would be sweet.

It’s still a good film but I think I speak for everyone when I say Armageddon is better. I ordered my copy from Amazon but no slip.

I picked up the UK edition as well way back when. I remember the audio being heavily compressed, and seemed more-so even for a vanilla 640k DD encoding. The train-wheel sequence had no dynamics. I replaced it with the 2011 U.S version when it released. Much more dynamic, and of course should be so given the lossless track.

I like them equally, but for different reasons. Well, at least I used to, as I also haven't watched Deep Impact in a quite a while. I'll see how I feel about it today and if it still holds up. Armageddon I otherwise can watch any time, it's such a fun and quotable movie.

Don't. Armageddon doesn't hold a candle to Deep Impact. Deep Impact is a thoughtful, intelligent, and introspective look at a disaster action movie. While Armageddon is a blunt, dull instrument charging it's way through everything. Think of it as a bull in a china shop seeing red. I enjoy Armageddon for what it is, but it's not Hamlet. And it's certainly nowhere near as good as Deep Impact. Total Michael Bay movie. Speaking of Bay, what do Bay and a hooker have in common? They both know how to blow things up.
