It's rather cool that you live near PA. One of my favorite bands is from Lancaster. The band is the innocence mission. I don't care that much for Billy Joel myself. He's got good songs, but the sound is so 80's and not in a good way. It's just not aged well at all. And his music videos are some of the worst of the era. Maybe it's just me, but a lot of the best music out of the 80's were the ones showed on 120 Minutes. The underground scene knew what music videos meant and knew how to use them. I always drag at work. Especially this week, as I am still trying to get over this mess I've got. It could be the C word, but I have no desire to find out. Cause, if it is, then I will have to stay home. Which means I won't be able to go on my trip. |

Hit two dealers and a Cycle Gear on the way back from my dad's house. Test rode two Yamahas at one of the dealers and got a feel for the bikes. Once I got home, I washed up real quickly and then went and got the bike and headed out to meet up with a buddy at the local Cycle Gear for their Bike Night. Came away with the same opinion as last time; I need me a biker chick

Nah. What you need is some big burly Hells Angels dude named Bubba that you can wrap your arms around and ride with.
![]() Just be careful when he's had Taco Bell. You'll need to stand downwind. Or, in this case, sit downwind. |

when I bought a new computer (I had to) it had window 11 on it. The functionality of my printer was reduced (I can't do some things now) and I'm still figuring out how to save images from my camera or saving them from on-line sources. ![]() |

Yeah it's annoying. I built my own desktop PC last year for the first time ever. I was all excited at picking out my own components; expecting it to be blazing fast and all that. It's built for gaming, but I'm far far far from a PC gamer. I just wanted the speed, LOL. And then Windows 11... killed that idea.

My ex-wife just pulled up in a 26 foot Uhaul truck. How am I supposed to be supportive of her moving my kid 4.5hrs away when I just stepped down at work and moved back here to be co-parent our daughter? Plus, I've been staying in her spare bedroom until I can find a place of my own so I'm inevitably going to end up homeless.
For what it's worth, I am happy for her, losing her teaching job may have been the best thing to happen to her. She's moving into her own house, she's started a new stay-at-home remote job that she seems to love. She deserves happiness, but damn I dunno if I would've moved back to NY if they weren't here. |

I'm beginning to realize that. I thought I needed to upgrade my RAM, but I've got 16 which should be plenty. 8gb is recommended for 11.
I should have stayed on 10. ![]() I was worried about losing support and updates in October. Last edited by sfmarine; 06-11-2025 at 04:48 PM. |

I intend to stay with Windoze 10 indefinitely. I do not care that it won't be "supported" much longer.
I stuck with Windoze 7 until 2022 and I never had any issues with it the entire time that it was unsupported. I reluctantly upgraded to 10 because my friends wanted me to play video games with them that required it. My current pc has an i9-12900K processor, 64 gb of DDR5 RAM, a 12 gb 3080ti video card, and 8 TB worth of internal SSD drives. It is my hope that this build will be the last that I ever need. 16 is bare minimum today, I would say easily 32 is recommended for 11 being realistic. You might be one of those that complains 11 is too slow because your hardware is not up to snuff. I just built a windows 11 rig and notice no such slow downs but it is latest intel i7 chip, 64gb of system memory and a gen 5 nvme ssd drive which is a very fast boot drive and makes a huge difference. People who try and use 5+ year old hardware are going to have issues, it is the same for apple hardware and software, heck apple has locked out several devises I have had over the years once it's hardware is too old for the newer o/s.
