Well I admire people who are constantly trying to do the right thing but, with my device Im not getting any link to Richards post in this Blu-ray.com thread from post #5 in your AVS thread when I visit over there. Do you have to login as a member to get links to other forums or is this a political thing?

Using Google Chrome or Microsoft Explorer
. without logging in: only the initial post is displayed (i.e. the quote from Blu-ray.com and my thank you to Richard)
. with logging in: the link to the original post is also displayed.

Using Microsoft Edge, the link is displayed in both cases.

That's strange.

Do you still get bombarded with ads when you login over there with your setup?

Good luck with the poll. But it seems 'likability' is a bigger thing over there than expertise.

Forwarded to me, as I see at least one other journo has picked up on the HFR/HDR demo at IFA (and which quickly followed at IBC).. http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php...&id=1473185035

As to the image shown in the top pic on the left, do we not have any members here from Switzerland ????

You may not know the shutter and exact fps used to acquire the imagery like I do, but at least you should recognize the arena. Any Swiss here?

Were - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...w#post12826906 even ahead of our Hollywood friend, Carolyn.
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/beh...llywood-943212 , b.t.w., for numbers watchers, the brightness of the projection system used by Eclair is 102 nits.

On a side note, since Carolyn briefly refers to the Digital Cinema Initiatives spec in her fine report, a few comments

DCI was originally formed by 7 major studios to jointly develop a single digital cinema spec which was of importance towards securing billions of dollars in studio subsidies towards the purchase of digital cinema equipment.

But the roll out is over jack. Studios no longer subsidize new equipment purchases. Without that financial incentive, new DCI recommendations have little impact. Despite this, DCI continues to manage its specifications as a closed organization in that only Hollywood member studios can attend meetings and participate in decisions. DCI has two important tasks:
1. The maintenance of the baseline spec for Digital Cinema
2. Oversight of equipment compliance.

Both tasks can be better carried out thru organizations that are open to industry stakeholders.

That article didn't add much compared to this article that was published in May. I am hoping for an official announcement before the end of the year.

Penton,

Any idea what the Cinerama Dome ticket prices will be?
And will all seats be same price, or will there be a zoned pricing structure?

I'm only 100 miles away, but I'll have to sell the idea to my other half.

Someone mentioned to me $20.75, I assume for all. If pricing info is not up yet on their website, then check soon. Don’t dilly-dally.

Easier and cheaper than flying to Taiwan.
