400 is actually a very decent price. hte panasonic and oppo 4k players will be around 1000. and like others have said, the very first regular blu ray players to hit hte market were $1000-$1500.

Havnt read much and just now getting interested in this 4k thing. So a couple of questions because I need to make some decisions.
1. Will these new 4k Ultra blurays be in 3D? 2. Will old regular blurays play in the Ultra player? 3. Do I need to buy everything all over new as in TV & Player? Thanks for the feedback. Got Em!! |

So I see people are debating between 4k vs 3D. So some are saying that the current 3D blurays will be better than the new 4K Ultra blurays? Is the technology similar? Just trying to get answers and figure this thing out and how I plan to go about this. Got Em!!

However, there are a lot more visual benefits from 2D 4K due to a higher bit depth (10 is standard but could go up to 12 with Dolby Vision), greater color gamut, high frame rates, wider contrast ratio, high dynamic range, etc. |

Besides, HDCP 2.2 is a fundamental part of the AACS 2.0 platform (<- click for slide from AACS presentation) so them stating it in the manual like that still pertains to HDCP 2.2, amongst other things. |
