I like this article - Small Testing Glitch Leaves More HDMI Rev 2.1 Questions Looming - CEPro

It clearly shows that you are encountering reflections (similar to microwave propagation) when using such high frequency transmissions with HDMI fixtures.

So we contacted a fellow RF engineer that specialized in connector issues and found that his firm built instrument-grade HDMI connectors. Not cheap, but if it worked we would be home free.

Well, that solved it.

But even for a lab with the right equipment, the intricacies of the yet-to-be-released spec make testing a huge undertaking.
Thats a mouthful, and quite probably a good indicator to amount of time involved to determine if this indeed workable, or is the HDMI.org getting ahead of themselves in their quest for licensing revenue.

HDMI 2.0b has only been live for just over 1 month. And you believe 2.1 will be sold next month??

What tv are you looking to buy next month with 2.1 included??

This is not correct. The information you "heard" is wrong.

There might be some products with HDMI 2.1 next year but that's very unlikely. It's more likely to be 2019, at the earliest.
