So I guess TNG sold well enough.

Unless of course they just mean the episode Birthright and that a full season set won't be out until after TNG is over.

Of course I'd love it if there was a full episode or two in the set as a teaser, but I'm holding out for a official announcement before jumping to conclusion.

I bought most of TOS on LD. Oh well, I did watch them a lot until about 7 years ago when my LD player broke. I was hoping for Voyager before DS9, but I still have to wait for a big price drop on Enterprise.

They're just talking about the episode of TNG that shows the station.

maybe so, but would they post that without the implied double meaning of the DS9 series coming to bd??
if they did, that would be pretty sad imo.

Well, a "first look" implies a second...and a third...and so on...

That's exactly what they meant. they meant it literally. You will see the DS9 station in HD on TNG season 6.

it was NO announcement that it is coming on it's own to Blu-ray.

Will it? Time will tell.

Why would the tweet name out the entire series name 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine' if they were only referring to the station's appearance in the one episode? I bet it's a teaser for season 1, cuz there's no sense in waiting for TNG to end before they even start to get underway releasing DS9.

I just hope that DS9 gets the same overhaul that TNG received and it not just being an upscale release

The upscaled episode on the TOS S2 set looked awful. Hopefully a lesson learned.

Good point, if they were just referring to the station it seems like they should have said "get your first look at Deep Space Nine in HD", not "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in HD". Of course, it's possible that whoever wrote the tweet just wasn't thinking about this distinction.

Yeah, I think those are both definitely tells which reveal CBS's ultimate intentions to remaster the entire series ala TNG, even if it can't be construed as an official announcement. It's definitely not and I don't expect any kind of separate trailer for DS9 on the TNG S6 set.

It's just far too early. I think this is merely clever social media marketing. They're really just talking about "Birthright, Part I" as others have already pointed out. But I think there's no question we will be well into collecting season sets of HD DS9 when the next film is in theaters for the 50th Anniversary in 2016.

It is the Cameo of DS9 from Birthright prt 1, a little deceptive

One thing that is giving me hope that DS9 is next is the statement that was made....
"Your FIRST look at DS9 is on Season 6"
That says that we WILL see DS9 on Blu-Ray again.
You can't have a first look without more to follow.

Sure you can. Whenever something happens that has not happened before, it is still the first time it has happened even if it never happens again.
