That’s par for the course for them. They haven’t necessarily been the most transparent, customer friendly business around.

They sent out an email on March 13, which had said that all replacements would be sent out by April 9 and that tracking information would be emailed out once they did. I replied to that email yesterday inquiring about this and received a response late last night stating that my replacement had shipped yesterday and provided a tracking number for it.

That is good that they sent out some replies at least. Maybe it will actually come in the next week or two...

I never even got a reply as to a replacement being an option. I asked about it on the indigogo page and one of the emails mentioned on this thread

I got a shipping notification a few days ago. I'm hoping it's a good copy and not another bum disc. I'll keep you guys posted.

FYI

My replacement disc came. It's a proper pressed Bluray and not a BD-R. The disc art is also to a professional standard. My posters came rolled in a bag sleeve and everything was in a sturdy long box. It was shipped via DHL with final delivery by the USPS.

They can’t answer emails, but they can send me one asking me to support their next documentary. I think I’ll take my money and wipe my ass with it instead. At least then I’d have something to show for it.

Does anyone know if we'll have another opportunity to buy this again at some point soon? I was able to watch this recently and thought that it was surprisingly excellent. Since it seems like they've finally gotten their crap together with the pressed discs, I'd love to grab a copy or myself and a friend.

I had to send some very nasty emails in order to get a response. I felt like you. I absolutely hit the roof when I got an email about another film, and also started seeing people who purchased the disc after backers receiving pressed discs. It wasn't pretty and I told them as much!

Is this still for sale anywhere outside of ebay? I'd really like to purchase a copy but am not really if it's still available anywhere. Would anyone that has requested/received a pressed copy of the film as a replacement for the BD-R version be willing to sell me that BD-R version?

My girlfriend got her replacement copy today, on a pressed Blu-ray Disc. I'm glad enough people complained about the BD-R.

The documentary (which we watched months ago) is kind of...well, it's a talking heads piece. Kind of fun but nothing substantial; it's more for the joy of seeing a good number of movies talked about, but it feels more like something for someone who's getting into horror movies and not one that's gonna give some insight into the making of them.

Not bad but it doesn't make me wanna see their sci-fi doc.

That was my feeling about the upcoming sci fi doc. I'd rather they talked abut less movies and be more in depth about the ones they cover.

It wouldn't surprise me if they put it up for sale again at some point. They said they weren't with the Elvira version of the doc, yet they put it up for sale yet again...and cheaper too.

I was pretty disappointed with this doc... seemed like a very standard talking heads piece with a bunch of industry people simply talking about how cool these various films are. I thought it would be much more substantive and in-depth, coming at the subject from different angles besides, “The Howling had such a cool transformation sequence!”

I felt like I was watching 4.5 hours of random Scream Factory extras edited together, just without much in the way of “inside info,” or even any critical analysis.

Finally got my replacement copy today in the UK. Much better quality case and a pressed disc.

Looking forward to the Sci-Fi doc now, In Search of Tomorrow and it seems like they learned their lesson on going cheap, as it says it will be a proper pressed disc in the info for it.

Looks like they are including the digital version of In Search of Darkness with it, if you back it on Kickstarter.

Since over a half year I send them each month a mail, regarding the status of my order. The first three months they replied they would definitely send out the BD next month. Promise. Since March they now don´t reply at all. But they opened another round of orders instead. Insane. I ordered the Elvira Edition. Fun. Will never pre-order any of their releases upfront again, that´s for sure.
