Just a quick update on our 2014 TV Shootout event. I listed the models that are being included and the few that are still actively being tested in our final evaluation.

Another interesting tidbit is we're adding a third voting category for the professional TV reviewers who are attending the TV Shootout. So we'll be releasing the results of the competition at the close of the second night in three voting categories, the general public, the professional editors and reviewers and our panel of experts.

Also, Joe Kane and Dr. Larry Weber will be our Key Note Presenters.

Tomorrow morning we're beginning to accept emailed requests to attend and participate in this year's TV evaluation Shootout. You can get an advance email application request on our website along with the latest updates.

With a little effort it is possible to do…at least in a professional lab. In fact, some entrepreneurial-type fellow like Joe K. could even produce a test disc for this to sell to consumers.

Looking forward to this event for any surprises. Although unintended, the BBC live 4K demo broadcast of the recent World Cup Final exposed a significant challenge to HEVC decoding efficiency (i.e. sloooooow) for one of the popular consumer brands.

My friend invited me to go with him to this years event but with killer combo of 5 herniated disc + meds = I can't make the trip.

I enjoyed reading this on the forum and the various articles floating on the web. I really wish I could make it.

Since I can't be there in person I'll be there in spirit.

As per past years, it should be streaming live. While it's not really possible to analyze the quality of the images online, you can at least see what's going on and hear the explanations.

did I mention that massive heart attack I had in November that came out of no where....lucky to have survived and lucky to be well again and attend the shootout. Please not too many BIG SURPRISES Robert... LOL
