That's reason enough to not let him back in the clubhouse.

Shia is a talented guy who has now started doing some great work in smaller Indies again, and I suspect that is where he's happiest. He has little inclination to work on a big budget franchise again and I think that the feeling is mutual.
Smaller Indies... or smaller Indys

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull back in 2008 was already way way way too late. Yeah Ford looked good for his age (and he still does) but he was too old then, let alone now after another 12 years have passed by.

I wonder if they will do some kind of Irishman de-aging in Indy 5. Maybe not the entire film, but if there is any flashback scenes etc.

I certainly hope so. I don't want the film to be Indy's Greatest Hits or some kind of anthology film, but seeing as this IS the final go round, celebrating the character's career is no bad thing.

That's what it would cost.

If Marion comes back can we have the original one please and not the slapstick comedy sidekick who drives over cliffs while wisecracking.

The Irishman's digital botox did nothing to disguise how those actors in their 70's and 80's moved, however. The idea of an Indy movie where Ford looks 35 but moves like that creaky, arthritic beatdown De Niro gave to the shopkeeper in Scorsese's film depresses me already.

Indiana Jones didn't die in The Force Awakens. He just fell into a snake pit. Called the Snakekiller Base.

They can de-age the face all they want, but when he moves like grampa shuffling around through the mall it's gonna look odd.

That's something Ford himself wants to try to avoid, to look silly. From his own mouth.

The character of Frank Sheeran in The Irishman WAS arthritic though, in all fairness.

Yeah, but did they write that into the movie to specifically cover De Niro's inability to beat people down the way he did 30 years ago? And was he arthritic when he was forty or whatever when De Niro smacked the shopkeeper around? If we see a de-aged Indy where he's supposed to be "thirty-five" or whatever, but Ford is gimping around like he's nearly eighty, it's gonna be glaring.

Easy solution is to put the de-aged head onto a younger actor. Not sure why Scorsese didn't do that at times in The Irishman, but I also don't think the results were nearly as bad as people pretend they are. And anyway, I don't see Ford relinquishing any opportunity to do as much work as possible himself.

Do that, and you're essentially making an animated movie. Just re-cast the role if Ford is too old (and he is). We've had six 007s, and we've already had three "young" Indys and one "old" one that Ford is older than right now.
