It WOULD be a younger Indy prequel ffs. Ford is almost 80. Pratt would be fantastic as Indy. The only problem is they need to hire younger now. They waited too long. He would age out of action in about 10 years.

They can recast the character of Indy prior to Harrison Ford’s age in Raiders (37). From that age onwards he is Ford in canon.

Kind of like they recast Han Solo, but once we hit A New Hope he’s Harrison’s Han.

If Hollywood wasn't so dismissive of traditional animation, they could do with Indiana Jones what The Illusionist did with dead French comedy director and actor Jacques Tati.

Allen continued, “I mean, what’s great about it is we don’t know what the circumstances are. So she obviously cared deeply for him. He may have cared for her, too. But, in the end, decided it was a dangerous situation and he didn’t want to be involved. I mean, I guess, when something is as vague as that, you can color it any way you want to color it. I’ve tended to color it, sort of, that it was quite innocent. When she says, ‘It was wrong and you knew it.’ I mean, I think maybe he led her on in some way. But when she says she was a child, I think she meant she was 16. Something like that.”

“I don’t think of him as a pedophile,” Allen concluded. “That’s the direction some of these people are going.”

Indy was born canonically on July 1st 1899. Movie is taking place in late 60s. So yeah.. he’ll be playing Indy 10-12 years younger than his actual age. Which is fine, Harrison and Indy have never had a one to one age correspondence.

Marion’s introduction scene is also notable for the punch. According to Allen, she actually did punch Ford several times while filming the scene over multiple takes.

“I clocked him a couple of times,” Allen said. “He was slightly annoyed. But I mean, it happens. I had never punched anybody in a film before. So they were showing me how to do it, and I was doing my absolute best, and as far as I was concerned his chin just got in the way of my hand.”

Spielberg was not happy about the idea that Marion's romance with Indy started when she was 12 years old. So he would be one of those people you'd have to hate, if her age had remained defined that way in the movie. (obviously without him directing it.)

There's a lot of unnecessary noise in this world but people voicing their concerns about mature adults having relations with pre-teens is not part of the problem. They're not taking it there. It got there by itself.
