I don't recall Atlantis ever being rumored to be in the Bermuda Triangle, but please someone correct me if I'm wrong.....then again.....it's just a mythical place.

yes but in the movie the Ark has powers, you open it and everyone else dies, remember the whole Nazi army that disintegrated? If such a box with such powers existed, how could the Israelites be defeated? The Israelites would have opened it and the Babylonians would have lost, not won.

I didn't say Hitler was in Indy 4. I was just saying that the fanatastic, the mystical, the occult, are all part of the world of Indiana Jones. And that is a throwback to the movies that Indiana Jones is paying homage to.

Yes, in the movies, the ark has powers. Never said anything different.

And yes, the Last Supper is mentioned in more than one Gospel. But my point was that the way you posted, it sounded like the grail is mentioned in different areas of the Bible. It is not. In fact, the Bible only mentions that JC drank from a cup and that's it.

And my impression of Indy 4 was that they were trying to make a link between the UFOs and crystals, and crystal skulls, hence alien crystal skulls. That is not far fetched. When you look at the major advocates of belief in aliens and UFOs, you will also see that most of those people also are involved in various occult beliefs as well. At least 2 books have been written showing the strong link between UFOs and occultism. Of course there are the materialists who are just interested in the possibility of extra-terrestrial life.

Indy four was great. Not the best, but certainly third in the list with TOD being in last place. I look forward to seeing the fifth film. And hey, look on the bright side... This time we we will probably be alien free. I hope we perhaps go back to a search for another religious artifact since it worked so well the last two times. And Nazis... Indy has to kick more Nazi butt!

Ever since playing the old video game "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis," I always fancied that Atlantis should be the centerpiece of a new Indy film. Hell, ANY film about Atlantis would be welcome!

I'll probably enjoy it, regardless of what story they pick.

Atlantis and Lemuria WERE real places. Dig deeper than "lies agreed upon" conventional history. Those places later helped shape Sumaria, Eygypt, Tibet and the Incan empire.What Atlantis went through in her final days ,we seem to be going through right now. History repeating itself when lessons go un- learned.
There is an old story that tells of a crystal as large as a HOUSE from Atlantis, that is at the bootm of the Bermuda Triangle.
It all sounds like an Indy story I would want to see. Wouldn't you?

it is mentioned in different gospels and letters, where else would you expect it? in Genesis? Exodus?.... it will be in the new testament, it did not exist before

In fact, the Bible only mentions that JC drank from a cup and that's it.

no he blessed it, drank from it and then passed it to his disciples and told them to drink from it. That is what makes it a sacred relic. Obviously like the Ark the rest (magic) was made up for the film.

As I recall it, he said a blessing over the wine rather than the cup it was in.

If Atlantis is real or not, none of us know. As for the crystal and BT that is all modern BS.

If Atlantis (what ever it was called) ever existed we only know very few facts and the only original source is Plato and the only real info is in his two books Timaeus and Critias. Now in Timaeus, Critias tells the story told to (his Grand father) Solon by some Egyptian priests when there. People can go to those two texts to get the details but in essence a long time before that there was a big island past the pillars of Hercules (which we call Gibraltar), the people there had conquered most of Europe and Africa Until they came face to face with the Athenians who beat them off and back to their island. And eventually Atlantis was destroyed and wiped out off the face of the earth.

I said "know" because
1) Even though Plato does use historical names in many of his dialogues the discussions are often fake and written to make a point.
2) Even if we assume the discussion was legit it would depend on what Critias said (to be accurate) and that would depend on what Solon said and since the story comes from an Egyptian priest reading very old records it would depend on translations/comprehension between the Priest completely comprehending the extremely old report he was reading.
3) No records, even remotely close, to the story of Atlantis was found in Egypt.

He was blessing the food and drink, just like when people say grace before meals. Yes there is a legend around the grail. But it is not supported in any way by Scripture.

I read somewhere that the legend of Atlantis is actually the story of Noah told from the other side. Now there might be the germ of an idea for Indy 5: Noah's Ark and it's connection to Atlantis and the Bermuda Triangle.
