I still want the film to start with Indy and Marion standing at Mutt's grave for the anniversary of his death. Then a US government agent comes walking up telling Indy that they need his help and off we go.

I think Boyd Holbrook could be a recast Mutt.

For continuities sake I wouldn’t mind seeing them bring back Shia. I know it probably won’t happen tho.

If they considered de-aging Ford for the whole film, they could technically have the movie set before KOTCS, similar to how Temple of Doom is before Raiders.

What if...... The nazi train and the castle with the banners on it are a part of a film within the film. Like they're shooting a war movie somewhere and Indy some how gets involved.

Toby Jones is indeed a nice replacement as Mutt. Can't wait.

So they're going to de-age Ford's face, but he's still going to move like a 78 year-old. Seems legit.

As ILM is doing the VFX on this show, the approach will probably be a more developed version of the de-aging used for The Irishman.

I read somewhere that the train sequence is taking place during or at the end of WW2, so roughly six years after Last Crusade, which would be around the time of Ford doing Sabrina in 1995 looking like this:

I hope it's better than that.

Looks like a box of Terry's All Gold. A worthy MacGuffin.

I'd argue that Ford is still in good shape for his age unlike De Niro, so it might work better with him.

De Niro wasn't playing an active action hero.

Agreed. Lola VFX has created some truly stunning work and is ahead of ILM in this area in my opinion. Young(er) Michael Douglas in Ant-Man is still one of the gold standards:

One interesting thing: They haven't provided Ford with a wig here, as he is sporting his own grey hair, which could mean either they believe the hat will cover enough of his own hair in the final shots - or they are going with a complete CG head replacement like Tarkin or young Will Smith in Gemini Man (which was done by Weta).

He had gray hair in the last movie. They only need to cover it up if it's a flashback. For most of the movie he'll play Indy in his 70s (or pass him off as being in his 60's).

True, and it really suits him. But in the pictures he has grey hair and tracking markers on his face/clothes which denotes de-aging to be done on these shots later. So this probably is a flashback - unless of course there are multiple flashbacks with Indy at different ages.
