Thanks.
Didn't mean to come across like I was derailing the thread. Just meant that since I enjoyed the last a whole heck of a lot, I'm eagerly anticipating this one as well. Basically, I love the series and am happy there's more to come.

I'd definitely like to see a fifth one as I've enjoyed all four films (to varying degrees, of course). If the story is as crazy as Shia's making it out to be, then they should probably stop here. What I mean is, it's probably crazy because it's some big, epic legend that they're running with (I, personally, love the idea of combining Atlantis with the Bermuda Triangle). If so, then you really can't get much bigger than that, and I do think this series should end with an epic discovery/climax. I also want the last shot to echo Last Crusade. Riding off into the sunset was a perfect way to end the trilogy, so something similar (but not identical) should be done for this fifth film.

I'm all for another
I love the entire series, and another go around with Indy is always welcome in my books

I'm also glad that Speilberg came up with the story it sounds like this time and not George. Nothing against Mr. Lucas, but his stories are just not as good as they used to be

Shia swinging with his sword and then have Indy shoot him, you mean?

I honestly didn't mind Shia in the last one.

That said, I really just want another Indy, with or without him. I love the movies and always welcome another one.

Got to agree I didn't find anything wrong with the character and wouldn't mind if he was in the fifth one or not. Really hope we get a 5th one as I for one enjoyed Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Indy is my favorite movie franchise.

Bring it on... we need more adventure films!

As far as IV, I've only seen bits of it, but I didn't like Shia LaBeouf. I hope his role will be smaller in V!

I'm waiting for the trilogy to come out on BD before I watch II, III, and IV. I loved Raiders of the Lost Ark.

We need adventure films....sure. But do we need Indy 5? Probably not. I'd much rather see a reboot of Tomb Raider or an Uncharted movie than another Indy. 2 years and they can't come together on a script??

As much as it pains me to say it, Indy has run its course.

I would love a 5th Indy film and don't think the series has run it's course if they can get a good script. But they are making a Tomb Raider reboot movie and an Uncharted movie so that's good.

If they do another one hopefully they put Indy more front and center. In KOTCS for the last part of the movie he's just following John Hurt around not really doing much. There were too many people in his posse and from the camp scene on he felt almost like a secondary character in his own movie. The original three had a fair share of supporting characters, and they were all fairly rich characters, but Indy was the obvious focal point.

And more practical effects and less stupid humor/action. The Tarzan LeBeef and the snake scenes make me feel embarrassed that I'm watching it.

If you're syncing the movie w/ Rifftrax you shouldn't feel embarrassed.

To your point about Indy being the focal point, can a 70 yr old carry an action / adventure movie without a prominent supporting cast?

We're not talking Stallone here either....Harrison has 4 yrs on him.

It had really run it's course back in 1989, but they still managed to put together an entertaining 4th outing. I don't have any objection to them doing a 5th.

Exactly how I feel as well. Honestly, we need more adventure movies. And to me, the Indiana Jones series is my favorite of those. So I'm all for another one. I enjoyed four thoroughly, so a fifth to me is a great idea.

Well done. I can just hear Harrison Ford saying that.

I thought he did a good job. Some of the worst scenes and scripting of the film were based around his character, but he did a good job elsewhere. I wouldn't mind him being in the next film, but with a role no bigger than the previous film.
