I like Crystal Skull. For me the biggest flaws are that it has one too many supporting characters, especially by the end of the film. The old guy and Mac were just baggage by the last act of the film. The swinging monkeys part was kind of dumb, but I can tolerate it like I can tolerate the gymnastics daughter kicking a Raptor through a wall in JP: The Lost World.

If they can't crack this script in the next year or two, I don't think it's going to happen with Harrison Ford.

My main issue is the filmmakers trying to shoehorn Shia LaBeouf into the Indy successor role a little too quickly. Indy suffers from this and is almost reduced to a Supporting Role at times. There were already far too many characters in the movie in the first place.

Pretty much. Unless it's an animated project. He's doing a voice for the new Secret Life of Pets movie, maybe he'll ease into voice acting in the twilight of his life since he can't do much physical stuff anymore

The monkey vine swinging is my most hated scene in that film, so no argument there. Hell, the fridge scene didn't even bother me, but those monkeys.... Look the use of cgi was expected, just as optical fx were abundant in the original 3. It's just a change of tools. You'd be surprised what was real, what was miniatures, and what was cgi. They used every trick in the book.

Maybe they should ask Harrison Ford to play Old Indy (93 to 94 years of age) and remake the bookend segments of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (previously played by George Hall) for the Blu-ray releases. Harrison Ford is 76 years old, but they could age him more digitally, and George Hall was 74 years old when they shot the scenes.

That would be the kind of "Special Edition Edit" that I would approve. I know that they removed the segments in the DVD releases, but I think they are still canon for the fans.

Speaking of Young Indiana Jones, I hope Indy loses his eye in this film. Hopefully Spielberg/Kennedy are familiar with the tv show and do this. I also think it'd be pretty cool if he had a beard in this one like they did in his guest appearance on the show

I take it Ford likes Indy more than Solo? If they did the whole de-aging thing then it should have been done for the Solo movie imo.

I'm with Ford on that one. Indy > Solo but I love both characters.
