Really? All three of the original films are incredibly hammy and downright corny at times.

KotCS just followed the exact same tongue-in-cheek style of Indy I-III.

Overall Crystal Skull was a decent Indiana Jones movie. I could have done without the Nuking the Fridge sequence and the Mutt of the Jungle sequence, but otherwise, not bad.

I don't often agree with you, but I do here. It seemed to be a natural extension of the first 3.

If they want to continue with the more fantastic things, Indiana Jones and the City of Atlantis.
I would love to see those!

I absolutely LOVE KOTCS... Other than it was made so much later, I don't see much of a difference. I think its an AWESOME extension and I'm really looking forward to Indy 5... I like the City of Atlantis idea, that sounds cool

I don't see how the fridge scene was any more absurd than any of the other miraculous survival scenes in the other films. In fact, I'd say it's pretty on par with the Rubber Raft sequence in Temple of Doom.

In fact, the Fridge is actually cooler than that scene. I thought it was downright awesome.

Agreed. Those two scenes for me were like, But, I thought the first three-quarters of the movie was pretty good. Unfortunately, Spielberg thought he was making a Close Encounters sequel for the last quarter.

No, I'm not incorrect, I have a different opinion. Your opinions are not the standard by which every else's are judged.

Exactly. Nuking the fridge is the new "jump the shark". It was plain stupid.

There you go. You are comparing it to the other bad movie in the series. Neither I nor III had that nonsense. Even so, the rubber raft sequence isn't as much a violation of physics as the nuke scene is. Heat, shock waves, residual radiation, fallout, etc.

If the natural extension is to wither and die, then you might be right.

Maybe the natural extension is to go from mostly real stunts to CGI Tarzan boy swinging through the trees.

Or maybe it's from real animal effects to CGI giant ants eating people...?

Space aliens...?

Really?

Well Indy 3 did have the plane in the tunnel passing the car, exploding just as it's out of the tunner thing I mean come on!! What's wrong with the fridge and the nuke after that one?

The plane thing was done for comedic purposes as a funny aside {and something that's theoretically possible}

I think explaining why someone surviving being exploded in a nuclear blast and surviving in a fridge is not only silly, but also kind-of crazy and deux ex machinae would take up far too much space for one post.

They won't have one.

Since it'll basically be in the 60's they'll be looking for the mystical bong of life.

Logan, it's Indiana Jones....

In the first movie he goes looking for a cell phone that let's you talk to God, he as an army of nazi shooting at him yet are only able to hit him once in the arm, take's a ride on a submarine, not inside but outside yet does not dies of hypothermia....

In the second, he's looking for 3 rocks that when stolen everything in nature around the village dies, where a guy as his heart pull out of him yet still lives and his still screaming and alive when he hits a pool of lava, goes on a rollercoaster ride in a mine....

In the third, he's looking for a cup that belong to Jesus, once again nazi can't get him, drag's his dad along for the ride, shots 4 count them 4 guys with one bullet who just happen to line up for him, meet's a knight who's been living off drinking water in the same cave and with one book for 700 years but yet is still sane....

Let me say again, it's Indiana Jones It was never reality, nothing in all 4 movies is real or was suppose to be real.
