I think you should try and keep this as clean and as basic as possible. Hell i'd go as far as to say, just do the exact same thing for the back, but with a different image.

Yeah. I'm not sure if I'll get to it immediately when the discs are released, but I've got some plans in my head of what I more or less want to do. It will incorporate taking existing DVDs and making these into Combo Packs, and when all is said and done, mine will be at least a 25 disc set.

Wow! Those are awesome! Any chance that you will post these for people to download?

I'd love to use this for the basis of the covers that I will ultimately print up. Or at least as a possible option (I have a few other ideas floating around in my head). The biggest difference for me is that I'm planning on putting Episodes 1-5 in 4-disc cases, and Episode 6 in a 5-disc case, in which I will be splitting up the bonus feature discs between them rather than having a separate box for them.

Right now my plan is tenatively something like this:

Box 1: Episode I BD, both Ep I DVDs, and the PT BD extra features disc

Box 2: Episode II BD, both Ep II DVDs, and the BD documentaries disc

Box 3: Episode III BD, both Ep III DVDs, and the Story of Star Wars DVD (which came in a separate case attached to Episode III DVD at Wal-Mart)

Box 4: Episode IV BD, both Ep IV DVDs from the individual set, and the BD OT bonus features

Box 5: Episode V BD, both Ep V DVDs, and the DVD bonus disc from the initial OT DVD release (with Empire of Dreams, etc)

Box 6: Episode VI BD, both Ep VI DVDs, and both of the Ewok movies (I have the official release of them which is a 2-sided disc with a movie on each side. I plan to copy them to 2 separate DVDs for this set, this way I won't have to handle the official DVD more than needed and will reduce the risk of scratching whatever side if facing up).

I don't have the "Musical Journey" DVD. If it's still available and reasonably priced I might get it (thus making mine a 26-disc set, and me probably having to make one of the other episodes into a 5-disc case).

I'm also debating on whether or not to include the 2 Clone Wars DVDs (the original 2D animated shorts) in this set, which would bump this up to a 27 or 28 disc set (depending on whether or not I get that Music Journey disc).

If I do include the Clone Wars shorts discs, I will probably make both Episode II and III 5-disc cases, put the Clone Wars discs with Episode II, and move the Documenataries disc over to Episode III or something like that.





By the way, I am under the impression that the physical dimensions of the 4 and 5 disc Elite cases are the same. Am I correct on this? Or is the 5-disc case thicker?

I agree with the other poster... If Ep. III had a large central figure (like the other 5 covers) then the set would be amazing. Throw the Emperor's head in the bg behind Hayden and this would rock.

It would also be cool to have the Lucasfilm emblem outside the blue bar with the episode numbers as well. Logos don't have a place within the "title".

I like that idea and love karbacca's style. I love his Scream cover, which is my favorite custom cover I have seen. I will be back in 11 months or so to ask for both of them

I knew the EpIII cover needed a different image from the start, but couldn't find one that matched the others. They are all from the comics and my brother has the TPB of Revenge of the Sith, so I just scanned it and made this one to fit the "big heads at the top" look. I will try to get the backs done soon enough and then I will post these and a Struzan variant set for everyone to download! Thanks for all the input, guys! Keep it coming, and keep designing!

well I finally bought some blu ray cases (viva elite). The six disc cases I bought are much narrower than I excepted.

Out of curiosity, did you get any 4 or 5 disc cases? If so, how does their thickness compare to each other and to the 6 disc case?

The 4 and 6 disc cases seem to be the same thickness.

Some of the covers from this thread for 6 disc cases were made for a thicker case.

Yeah, those are probably made for 6 disc Vortex cases which are 22mm thick as opposed to 6 disc 15mm thick Viva Elites.
