Any Moneyball covers? I'd even take a scan of the original.

No, that is a 1968 re-release poster. I only tweaked the colours (red "Side" letters instead of brown), erased a few creases and cleaned up some of the letters. The small text is my addition, as well as the cream-coloured background (for that "vintage" feel).

Like I said earlier, I can only take credit for having the good taste to use it :-)

Many of those older posters for movies are just gorgeous. I wonder what kind of research marketing people are sitting on that indicates that discs won't sell with vintage posters on them?

Ah, well then it's a good poster. I'm inclined to believe original poster art will sell much better. Not only is it usually fantastic artwork, it has a sense of nostalgia for old fans of the film.

I can see how they might think 'This is in HD. We need to HD-ify the cover and spruce it up so people subconsciously see this as the definitive and best version, the one to get', to make the blu-ray more of a 'product' than a film, but I think that's pretty short sighted.

99% of the time I'd go with original poster artwork, usually the British quad.

I love seeing the variations and designs that are available on this forum and am tempted to be a bit more daring with my custom cover choices but I'd feel I was cheating on my original artwork choices.

My mind boggles at some of the choices made for official covers. For example the UK release of X-Men First Class - what a mess!!! Poor choice of image, made even worse by covering it with magazine reviews and star ratings. Totally disrespectful the film itself IMO.

Here's a Before and After. It was more or less pret-a-porter for a cover, even the right dimensions for an almost square Blu-Ray front. (Many times it's difficult to fit theatrical posters on a Blu-Ray due to the discrepancy in the width-height ratio).

Just a few touch-ups. I ended up using a red overlay to make the middle word red (Just my personal aesthetic choice). Some creative use of the clone tool to erase the folds, and reworking the lower curve of the "S" in Story. Presto!

Where did you find a hi-res scan of that poster? I find some online here and there, but I've never found that one anywhere.

I'm looking for one in particular, Jean Rollin's Fascination (the drawing of the girl with the sythe).. if you have any resources for that.

Not wierd at all. I used exactly the same cover art for my Stallone collection (but I did include "Lock Up" as part of the collection).

All I can say is WOWWW, there are some really talented work in here!!!

I was hoping one of the many artists in here could do me a favor. I have a VHS cover that I need converted into a DVD cover for a release that has never and will never be released on DVD and definitely not blu-ray. I can scan the actual VHS cover if that helps as I don't have the proper programs or talent to make it look like it should.

Again, great work and I hope to hear from you guys soon!

That's cool. It's funny, a few months ago I didn't really like the idea of collections based on actor or director, but now I'm kind of getting into them. I'm planning on doing one for my Mel Brooks movies, my Adam Sandler movies and maybe Jim Carey and Stephen King movies.

I echo gregmasciola. Which movie are you referring to? I have done a number of covers for movies that have never seen a DVD release including "High Road to China" (1983), "Lassiter" (1984), "Bear Island" (1980) and "Sahara" (1983).

Anyone with an alternative cover for the blu-ray of the Last Temptation of Christ. I think Criterion is using the same cover from the DVD edition. I really expected something different from that version.

I've been working on this when time allows (which isn't much right now):

Obviously it's a work-in-progress.
