The top of my list is Near Dark. The Twilight cover for the retail Region A BD is a disgrace to just everything.

http://www.euphoricfx.org/ is probably the closest you will find where covers are available for free. All you need to do is post so many messages in their forums.

Thank you. It was a nightmare finding a good source for that poster. In the end I had to stitch together several close-up photos from the Film on Paper website http://www.filmonpaper.com/posters/t...ghter-quad-uk/

Bear in mind, these are just front/spine replacements where the client, Patch5129, himself chooses the artwork. The backs are just scans of the official covers.

The challenge is finding good sources for the posters he wants and to make them work for a cover. Many times this entails heavy editing of the posters, cutting them up and rearranging them to fit the format. Usually I have to paint out at least the title treatment in order for it to be moved.

For the Clash of the Titans cover I had to erase all the text and crew photos and tweak the colours to Patch's liking. I do love a challenge.

Perhaps I should show you guys some other front cover replacements I've been doing sometime?

You should have let me know, I could have saved you some time

I have a clean high resolution version of that "Clash of the Titans" poster sans credits and crew photos that I have held onto because I thought I might use it for a custom one day.

Here are a few of the front/spine replacements I've done recently.
They are relatively quick to do compared to full custom jobs, and I'm always excited by the poster choices people go for.

One thing that I find is very important, is to redo the spine as well when you're changing the front. It helps tie the cover together and not make the new poster look pasted on.

Will anyone be doing a cover for "Battle Royale" 4 disc complete collection? I would love to be able to put the set in an elite 4 disc case!

I like your Indy covers. I would just change 2 small things.

First, the color of the artwork on the second movie is just too much. Fade it down a bit.

Secondly, the green for the fourth movie just doesn't seem right. Perhaps a darker green.

I've been waiting for someone to do justice to the Rocky series. How can I get the one you made and may I request II-VI?

That's a poster, just modified from what I can tell.

I love these! I think they're freakin' awesome! How did you create that torn edge around the posters on the front?

Default Minimalist/Vintage Poster

It's been awhile since I've been on here, but I figured I'd post this here if anybody wanted to use it. It's my first attempt at a vintage/minimalist design. I might see if I can turn it into a full size poster. Feel free to message me for a higher resolution version to use for cover art. Let me know what you guys think. More of this style to follow, PM me with ideas.

Your Last Starfighter cover is likewise great; I did one with a similar poster on the front, but it didn't have the ancillary characters all around. Great work.

Great covers - I'm a massive fan of consistency and these seem to have it in abundance.
Really like the use of the "sought after artefact" of each story on the reverse - great touch.
My only criticism, and it's a really teeny one, is that the reverse is just a tad heavy on text. Maybe just one more photo.

But genuinely 99% perfect. How do I get them?

It is indeed a poster by comic artist Paolo Rivera. The choice of poster was the client's, so I can't take credit for the good taste he has :-) This poster was an exclusive, handed out to the cast and crew on the film upon completion. Very hard to find a good source for it online.

If you compare the poster to the finished cover you will see that I had to rearrange quite a few of the elements to make it fit. These aren't just copy'n paste jobs. You usually can't just slap a poster as-is on the front and call it a day.

The biggest version I could find of this poster was 800x1200 so it took a bit of post-processing to make it look good in the final cover. Thankfully, the gouache painting lent itself to upscaling really well. On the artist's webpage I found a better image of just a portion of the poster, and I merged that with my upscale so some of the detail in the finished cover is true detail. I had to redo the Captain America logo to eliminate the jagged edges, though.

The original poster:

And a Before & After of the US BD cover:

Many thanks, Sir. These were commissions for forum user Patch5129, so you'd have to PM him to ask. He was also the one who chose the poster. Again, I can't take credit for his good taste
...but I'd be happy to take a commission for similar work for the rest of them.

Re: the text--do you mean the synopsis text? Hmm...
Yeah - just a bit too much text, kind of weighs the reverse down a little. But it's only a teeny niggle.
