It'll easily fit on a Legal size carton. Last edited by Morsoth; 04-12-2012 at 10:20 PM. |

I know this is a long shot, but by any chance does anyone have high quality scans of the Blu-Ray covers for both the 2003 Hulk movie and the 2008 Incredible Hulk movie (and possibly the spine of the slip cover from the 2008 movie)?
The reason that I ask is that I want to make a slip cover for the 2003 Hulk movie (based on the Blu-Ray cover, but photoshopping in some elements from the 2008 movie's cover to kind of make them match) using the template that BunnyDojo posted... I would do this myself, but I am "scanner impared" at the moment. The old scanner that my wife and I had (which wasn't that high of quality anyway) was part of a printer combo unit which "died" a few months back. We haven't bothered to replace it yet since we actually have another stand alone printer that came with our computer that we bought a little over a year ago, and we print far more often than we scan. |

It's not perfect, but hopefully it will be a good start if someone out there wants to take the idea and run with it. ![]() |

I'll use your idea (Thanks a lot for the template!) and try my best to make a slip cover for some of my favorite movies very soon! |

I just lurk here to look at the covers you guys are doing. I don't have room for a wall of display cases so all my movies are in binders. It's okay but I kind of miss some of the great covers as binders really aren't made to hold the paper pieces
![]() Anyway, just wanted to ask what is the drive behind making favorite movies a "Criterion Collection" when they are not? thanks |

Hey everyone.
I wanted to create a custom artwork for a DVD-case, but I'm wondering how I should go about it: Designing the artwork is one thing, that's the part I'm good at. However, in what program will I need to do this first of all? Is Photoshop the way to go, or is there something else like "InDesign" or something like that? Then also, how do I create it in a program so that when it's printed, it's in the right size? I mean, there's the front, the back and the spine, and then also the overall size of the whole print. How do I do this? How will I know that the spine in the center of the full image is in the right position and the correct width and all that? Is there a tutorial for this or is it as easy as creating some kind of template in a program or something? Please keep in mind, if you suggest any sizes for me to work with in a program, that I'm doing this for a DVD-sized case. Greetings! |

For me, I love Criterion's cover design. So clean looking. I also love the case they use. I really don't like the floating heads covers that studios put out. I love Criterion's minimal designs. I kept finding so much great artwork for movies that weren't Criterions that I decided to make them "Criterions". I really don't care if it says Criterion on it. But since I already had a bunch of their movies, I thought I might as well have a uniform collection. Plus, it's been a LOT of fun making the covers. Printing them out myself. It's been a blast. |

Reminds me of a topic I saw here years ago, about "Creating hybrids. Is it OK to do??". I mean, as if it's some kind of crime. If you or people want to be creative with products they bought and own, go ahead, you're free to do that. And if any purists want to frown upon that, well, too bad for them, just let people be creative and enjoy stuff. So, no offense really, but I just think your comment is a bit silly. And if they feel similar about it, but still want to enjoy custom-made artwork, who knows they might even separate the real ones and the home-made ones. People seem to attach too much value to certain editions, such as the "Almighty Criterion Collection" and the "Holy SteelBooks"... Last edited by Damage Inc.; 04-14-2012 at 10:18 AM. |

Like he said, he likes the simplistic design of the Criterion covers, but decided to make all of them Criterions just to make his collection seem more uniform.
