Anyway, you all did a fantastic job (apart from this nitpick)
I thought about adding more to the back, but decided against it, and here's why.
Some of these Pixar films have several different releases, and there is no doubt that those yet to be released in 3D will be getting an upgrade again in the future. So as a sort of future proofing, I wanted these ones to just be plain, generic for the film they include rather than specific to it's content. This way, it doesn't matter which version of an individual film you have, the covers will still work.

I am trying something different this time around. Since the movie centers around a comic-strip I wanted to create a cover that is comic strip based and I was helped to find a number of panels from the actual "Condorman" comic strip that was released at the time of the movie. The background that is at 10% Opacity is an actual page from the comic:

One of the things I plan for the back is to put my stills in comicbook style panels but I atill need to figure out how best to do that.

These are just FANTASTIC. May I ask where you are getting all the concept art images from? Some of them are just beautiful.

I second this. Some of the concept art I just want to print out and make a poster of it. Especially it they keep being as lovely as the Beauty and the Beast alternate cover.

Here's my first attempt at a comic strip panel for the back of my "Condorman" custom cover.

Of course the actual file is high res but in the interests of people loading the page looking for customs I have sized it smaller for this forum.

I like the Toy Story one but maybe the others are too simplistic?

Ever considering making custom covers for the Live-Action output of Walt Disney Pictures? More from the 1940's-1980's. More of The Black Hole, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, TRON, Return to Oz, etc.

Welcome to the thread. Generally you send the artist a PM and ask for a copy. Also, some of the contributors upload their covers to cover sites such as CustoManiacs and EuphoricFX and you can grab their work there after signing up and purchasing download points.

And it's not a stupid question. While you could gleam this from following the thread for a while, it's not really self explanatory. The question comes up regularly.

Very, very unlikely. I would consider making the live action covers FOR people, but I don't particularly care for many of the live-action films myself, so I don't want to have to spend hours and hours finding art and making covers for them.

I see myself doing the Disney Animated Classics canon, the Disney/Pixar canon and maybe a few others (The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, possibly.)

That said...

I know this isn't really concept art, but it was very difficult to come across concept art for this film and I've always really loved this poster anyway, so I hope nobody is bothered too much by it!

Sooooo much better than the stock cover(s), IMO! The quote text on the back reminds me of the old "Micronauts" font from the early eighties!

So here's what might be a touchy question: Are you planning on doing "3D" alternate covers for those that have (or will have) 3D versions, like Ralph, Lion King, Little mermaid, etc?

You know, I hadn't really thought too much about the 3D covers, but the reason I wanted to redo The Lion King is because it is the only title I've done so far where the back suggests the 3D version.

I think what I may end up doing is making 2 different versions of each of the films that have 3D versions. But I don't want to toss huge 3D logos all over the place, I feel like the artwork should first and foremost tell you what film is enclosed, it doesn't need to be cluttered up with a giant '3D' just because the film is presented in 3D.

So, I will make a 2D cover for The Lion King, change one of the Beauty and the Beast covers to 3D and make 3D covers for Bolt and Tangled. From that point, I will do 2D and 3D versions for each film that has the option.

The lossless audio on this one was PCM 5.1, with Dolby Digital and DTS lossy secondary tracks.

Completely scraped The Lion King and redid it, along with a version for the 2D Blu and a 2-Movie collection for the sequels. Also made some tweaks to Beauty and the Beast and made one of them 3D and one 2D. Plus 3D versions of Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph and Bolt. All of these and everything posted before is now available to download on the blog! Enjoy!

The Lion King

The Lion King 3D

The Lion King Sequel Collection

Tangled 3D

Wreck-It Ralph 3D

Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast 3D

Bolt 3D
