The last time it was available in Spain (in 2022 I think) it came with the original special features disc from the 2-disc BD release, not the updated one made specifically for the 4K. So it was missing all the extras from the 50th Anniversary big box.

The 4K Steelbook was released this week in The Netherlands. It includes the correct bonus disc. Unfortunately both 4K discs are stacked on each other and the same for the Blu-ray discs.

BTW, the Blu-ray disc with the film doesn't include Dutch subtitles. A few years ago Sony stopped releasing physical media and up until then our releases were mostly shared with France. Then Sony started releasing them again, but now our releases are shared with the Scandinavian countries, but no Blu-ray disc with the film exist with both Dutch and Scandinavian subtitles. So they included the disc with the Scandinavian subtitles. Not really a big deal for me, but a bit odd to not include Dutch subtitles on all included discs.

Then again, we should be thankful there are still films being released on physical media as the market in The Netherlands almost entirely collapsed the past few years.

Dammit.

Looking at back of a j-card now, only 2012 extras are listed, so it's probably intentional, and not a mistake that could be fixed with this reissue.

Still it's way cheaper than anywhere else, especially with discount code. This title is either OOP, grossly overpriced or just straight up do not ship to my country. So not much of choice for me.

How do I recognize if the bonus disc is the new or the old one? I should receive my copy in just over two weeks so can check it.

It's why I've been importing them these days, either there is no release here, they are incomplete (no included Blu-ray with bonus features) or it's bloody expensive. And while I don't need Dutch subs personally, seeing official releases such as 'Once Upon a Time in the West' have a label warning that there is no Dutch subs on the 4K disc... Like... I get the market here isn't great, but this doesn't help...

The specific bonus disc issue, as far as I know, it's strictly the Spain steelbook, for reasons I also don't know, and the same issue has been replicated again for the reissue, by the way, for those who have gotten it sent earlier by some shops, and I have asked and they confirmed me so. So I'm gonna stick with my 2022 italian steelbook.

Stop looking to get this steelbook in Spain, you aren't getting it. I'm not joking. We have a serious shortage of steelbooks most of the times, specially with Arvi (Universal/Warner/Sony). The worst is Amazon says it's in stock all the time when it really isn't, you're NEVER getting that copy, it's a real lottery most of the time. Arvi doesn't pay Amazon to show the real stock. If WE can barely get these, then even less chances for you foreigners. The best chances are local shops here..

Never mind, I see someone pointed that out already!

Lets see. I just ordered at Amazon.es, and I live in the Netherlands.
I got the order confirmation and delivery date of September 10th.

The Spanish release is 20 euro cheaper as in NL. i will remove the blurays from the trays to be on the safe side with the discs. Hope that the steelbook arrives; and if without denches….

And that release also includes the old Blu-ray disc, so the new special features available in other countries are not included on our release, although the packaging says they are!

My UK one has said ‘arriving 25th August’ since purchase, now says ‘arriving tomorrow’ but I fully expect not to get it.

I’m not paying eBay prices though. I have a VPN, and know how to browse the internet without a gpt assisting me. It’ll be inferior, but much preferable to paying £100 for one movie

r.e. bonus discs is dvdcompare.net incorrect here? As shows the same bonus features for all the releases

I'll try from here if Amazon Spain f*cks me, although i wonder how much shipping would be, the German Amazon site is 50 euros plus 10 euros for shipping.

I don't really wanna pay extortionate prices either, £30 is my limit for this, and even that feels wrong for what your getting, with them stacking the discs and potential missing extras.

Is the standard BD version of the movie in the 4K set still on one disc? (or split over 2 like the UHD)

If so, I assume it's just the same disc as before?

If Spaniards cancel my order, I'm giving up on this one and will just stick with Blu-ray. It's not Sony's best effort and I don't even like the artwork, so it's just not worth the hassle. Drop the price, release standard version or new remaster, then we can talk again.

I've only ordered from them once - The Abyss 4K UHD last year (It wasn't a pre-order). Delivery to Ireland was €5.74. Dispatched quite quickly, I was given a tracking number, it arrived in about 7-8 days in one of those white bubble padded envelopes.

I've only had one issue with Amazon Spain, it was last year with the Taxi Driver steelbook. I pre-ordered it a couple of months in advance, and 5 days after release they still hadn't shipped it.
Took no chances and just cancelled it and went with the French one instead, but I feel like had I kept the order they would've eventually fulfilled it, as I do remember seeing it briefly "in stock" some time afterwards.

I hope Amazon Spain pulls through for me, i just want the damn movie lol i don't wanna have to play all these games just to be able to see a movie in the best quality, this type of thing pushes people to streaming or piracy when it's this difficult to get hold of something. Do you already have the standard Blu Ray of LOA?

I've only ordered The Abyss 4K from Amazon Spain, i got a good price compared to everywhere else, it arrived quickly and undamaged and worked flawlessly on my player, so far Amazon Spain has been good to me, i hope they continue to be. That was another hard to get movie for me as they didn't bother releasing it in the UK because of the drowning rat scene.

My advice would be to just hold on to your order, don't panic cancel if they don't ship within the first week from release.
