My LOA steelbook arrived undamaged from DeepDiscount. As such, I also just ordered the Bridge on the River Kwai steelbook from them.

My copy from Deep Discount looked like someone placed it on the ground and jump on it a few times. I sent Deep Discount pictures and they offered me 20% off lol.

Mine also arrived from Deep Discount undamaged, and it's a beautiful disc. Sorry to hear some are getting damaged packages!

Just got the last one, thanks!

EDIT: It said last one but it seems like they're just in-stock now

I have the day off tomorrow so I will sit and watch it all. Disc One runs at 2:19:23 and Disc Two at 1:27:38, should I pause for a few minutes when I put in Disc Two or should I just pop them in and out and watch it completely. Never seen the movie so I'm curious on the way to watch such a long film

There is a natural Intermission at the end of Disc 1. If you saw this in a properly managed theater, you would have had at least 15 minutes to use the bathroom, stretch your legs, get more popcorn, etc. before Part 2. By all means, take a break in the comfort of your own home.

When seen in a theater, the film has an intermission that is duplicated on the disc.

You could always run to the bathroom like people do in the theater before starting Disc 2

Edit: What GrouchoFan says above

I've never seen this film before. Would I like it? I see that they have reprinted the 4K disc and it's in stock over at Amazon.

No one here can answer that question but you. Do you like long historical epics? Do you enjoy classic movies in general?

LOA is widely regarded to be one of the greatest (and most visually impressive) in film history. I tend to agree with that sentiment, but even so it’s definitely not for everyone. Especially those who are used to the insanely fast pacing of modern blockbusters.

I’ve never seen the steelbook dip below $30 on Amazon so $33 and some change isn’t bad at all.

I got my copy of the US 4K steelbook version and Last Action Hero 4K last week.

Lawrence of Arabia 4K: there are few thin scratches on the disc that cause it to have skipping issues at two separate parts in the 4K Disc 1. 4K Disc 2 and the other two Blu-ray discs are fine.

Last Action Hero 4K: even worse as I can't even watch the 4K disc at all. The normal Blu-ray disc is fine, however.

Can't return both because it is over the return period and it costs way too much. I am contemplating on getting the UK versions of 4K movies instead in the future.

If you like Dune, you should. Dune is essentially the YA sci-fi version of Lawrence of Arabia.

I cannot entirely disagree with this.. When I first read the book oh so many years ago, I had already seen LoA and was knowledgeable - for a kid - of the history of the real person and the events.. and the book struck me as a post-oil boom, science fiction variation on the legend of Lawrence created by Lawrence.

The author said he was inspired by Lawrence's book The Seven Pillars of Wisdom.

Though not a sci-fi film, Lawrence is a major influence on sci-fi. The hostile desert setting is great for epic clashes and to also showcase how small the human figure is.

Absolutely. And not to mention the parallels in location—Lawrence's famous filming location Wadi Rum has gone on to be Jedha in Rogue One, Mars in The Martian, in Prometheus, in The Rise of Skywalker and, of course, Arrakis in Dune.

Not sure you'll see this but if you take a dvd cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth you might be able to fix the skipping. I had an issue with the 2nd disc and I cleaned it and then it worked fine. Spray on the back of the disc and wipe from the center out.

I got the cleaner and the cloth from Amazon.
