I got probably one of the last copies from the original batch a few months ago from a third-party seller on Amazon. It looked like it had been stored in a hot warehouse or something. When I saw it had been reprinted, I ordered another copy right away, with the gift bag option. It arrived minty fresh.

![]() Not yet. Also, my Saturday is booked for work and Quiet Place III and Sunday is booked for Horizon. I'm thinking I might hold off and do it by July 4th, I'll have most of midweek (next week) off anyway, so I'll definitely be able to tackle it then. |

Watched the 4K last weekend. I was planning on doing Part 1 and then following up with Part 2 another day, but I ended up watching both. Amazing.

So, I've never seen this and was considering a blind buy now that is back in stock on Amazon at a reasonable price BUT...
...I have a Sony Bravia TV and have some credits to use up. I'm sure the quality of the disc is superior to the stream (despite Bravia's generally decent quality) but is it so drastic that I should go with the disc? It's nearly 4 hours so if I'm going to watch it I'd want excellent quality. Has anyone compared the Bravia stream to the 4K physical copy? |

Indeed I did - good catch. I guess I was looking for someone to talk me into it. That said, if the disc were an "A" and the Bravia stream were, say, an "A-", I might be okay with that as it would be be a blind buy and it's not exactly cheap. Also, I suspect I'm the only one in my family who will watch it. 4 hours can be a tough sell with the wife and (teenage) kids. My son loved "Das Boot" and even "Barry Lyndon" but I might be testing his limits with this.

There is barely any noticeable difference between the 25 Mbps iTunes stteam and the 4K disc from a reasonable viewing distance. The differences should be wafer thin between Bravia Core Pure Steam HDR10 Vs.the 4K disc minus the nuances Dolby Vision brings. Audio wise the disc sounds better for sure but again nothing to rave about. Some folks here don't do streaming at all but are quick to judge and dismiss high quality streaming and Kscape. Invite them to the house and see them struggle to tell which one is disc lol. |

Too clear up any misinfo: K-scape is not a 25Mbps stream at all. It sits as a solid compare with any physical media, and on some instances can surpass it. You're downloading, at minimum, a bit-perfect disc image after all, so it's not the same as streaming at 25Mbps, nor is it even streaming, lol... Further, "reasonable distance" makes me laugh, as that's different for everyone, but I digress... The reality is that physical media will always be better quality than any streaming, but budget, convenience, and other factors offset that element to various levels for all of us. Regardless, enjoy watching the movie! |

The differences have always been blown out of proportion by the strict disc only crowd. Then we got the high end audio folks who think good Soundbars can't match any separates. I was like this few years ago until I tried and got humbled. I have been using AI heavily for my work (I don't work in Park Road btw) and never thought I would doing it in my lifetime. Tech is advancing at a rapid pace and is also defying physics in some areas. Wish I had the money for KScape. ![]() |
