I'd say LoA 4k is one of the most outstanding transfers I've ever seen in the 4k format. This, Rudy, Apocalypse Now, Do the Right Thing, and Stand by Me are all "reference quality" in my mind. (Fright Night, Groundhog Day, Joker, and the Back to the Future series are up there too for me)

Will this get reissued soon with all the contents of the limited steelbook release? As much as I love the movie, I'm not paying $100 for it on the aftermarket. Especially since I could've bought it on Amazon for $35 a couple years ago. I just bookmarked it and stared at it on occasion!

IT comes back for sale at a decent price once in a while. I'd hold out

I hear ya. I got one of the reprints. I wanted another copy while it was on sale for like $28-30 on Amazon around black Monday, and it literally sold out while in my cart and deciding what other movies to buy in their sale.

It came back for a reprint once. I wonder if there is precedence for a 2nd reprint out there? Hopefully.

This is one I've missed out on and hoping to grab it if they re-released it in the future.

I'm hoping they will do a 70 year anniversary release in 2027.

It's up for pre-order on the Dutch website bol.com. The release date is 31/12, so it's just a placeholder. But that its up again says something. I don't know who its releasing it, but I believe its some scandinavian party and they do like a multiple country release.

What’s up with this trickle reprinting? Is Sony really reprinting in such small batches, or is it old copies that have been found in some storage corner that are being put on the market…

Why hasn't Sony made this disc widely available? It's hard to believe it would be bad business, when you look at all the movies Sony have deemed good business. Talk of the Town, American Movie, My Best Friend's Wedding, Real Genius, 1998's Godzilla. All of these I can order on Amazon right now. Why not Lawrence of Arabia?

So they can keep the price high. They're artificially reducing supply and creating demand, that way every time it comes back in stock for $45 or whatever, it sells quick.

They're applying the same strategy to some of Disney's releases.

The first three are also MOD releases, which at this point I'd be fine with everything being MOD if it means we aren't stuck with just high demand-low supply steelbooks priced higher to screw people over. Not like you can buy most things in store now anyway.

Really? Is that what it is? I didn't consider that because so many other popular classics are easy to buy. The Godfather, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Wizard of Oz: all widely available. Then again, I just spent $47 on The Third Man because the only way to buy it is in a steelbook sold on the Lionsgate Limited website. And that's also what's going on with Tombstone, isn't it? I guess it's more common than I realized.
