It seems like there won't be much of an excuse again not to buy it this time, at least for a while, but then I could be wrong.

I'm guessing perhaps it might also be something to do with creating streaming demand? you have periods were films like this of many series are only available to watch on streaming to get sign ups then you put out some more copies on disk every so often to get the income from that.

That DIsney are doing this with several of their previous exclusive Marvel and Star wars D+ series does suggest that to me.

Because they often can charge more for a steelbook at a minimal additional cost to manufacture. More profit for the label.

Although I got a re-issue steelbook of LAWRENCE for something like $18 last fall, so it's not necessarily a higher price, if you find the right retailer at the right time.

Plus FOMO sells more units more quickly.

I've just pre-ordered it on Amazon. I can't believe I did that today.

I have checked Zavvi, HMV & Rarewaves. The Pre-orders on all of them are sold out.

You'd think they'd realize though that steelbooks have to be specially made and that means less product available so they could sell more of a standard that's cheaper to make because they're readily available. But Sony and Disney have infected each other's common sense.

And then with a Disney release, people are just buying the non-limited UK standard version from Elevation because they don't sell out or cost so much and Sony's getting nothing from it.

Same here. I caved in and fell into the trap. Most likely there'll be a standard edition released soon after I receive the steelbook.

I like that in the UK your amazon cart is a basket instead.

Do anyone know if the LoA 4K steelbook reprints come with a slipcover, for the UK and US edition, respectively?

I always thought the idea was carts were one of those things we bloody Americans invented to get around our monstrous supermarkets, something the British didn't have for many years.

Uncalled for, however, I do hate pushing a cart around and prefer a basket when shopping. If it doesn't fit in the basket, and it's not home depot, I don't need it...

This reprint is now available for preorder on other markets too. E.g. here's the Nordic edition:
