We are veering into areas this forum frowns on. Anyone can acquire these files if one knows where to look and can access those places. Short version, no, this sort of files are not usually found on sites that are generally open to anyone.

For obvious reasons.

Did anyone here get an email from Zavvi about your pre-order of the 4K Steelbook of Lawrence of Arabia being cancelled?

I've been reading on Reddit this morning that a unspecified number of pre-orders of the 4K steelbook were cancelled by Zavvi either due to a cut of allocations from the supplier or because of an overallocation of pre-orders for the film on the Zavvi website.

I did not pre-order the steelbook from Zavvi. I did the pre-order via Amazon.

My Amazon pre-order for the steelbook has not been automatically cancelled at the moment.

It is still on track to be delivered to me in late August.

UPDATE:

Oh no. It looks like the issue with cancelling the 4K's steelbook pre-order via Rarewaves in the UK is due to an unexpected issue from Sony's factory.

https://i.redd.it/ksxq5ed9jvbf1.jpeg

Is this issue with Sony's factory going to have a negative impact on HMV & Amazon pre-orders as well?

Seriously why this title isn't available as a standard standalone release in quantity is beyond me

It's a crime, it's crazy to me that this movie isn't widely available in large quantities in 4k, yet loads of trash forgettable movies are available in 4k, taking up space where quality classic movies should be.

It's not an accident. Sony just wants to play FOMO games.

They like that you are annoyed by this.

To start, sure, but that was years ago. They're not the ones selling copies on the secondary market with 300% markup. So there's no more benefit to be had by them at this point.

I suppose by keeping them so scarce it means any reprint is like a guaranteed “money now!” button for them

Re-issue in Spain as well, just be aware Amazon ES is notorious for not fulfilling preorders.

I bought The Abyss from Amazon Spain and had no problem with delivery, but that wasn't a preorder, it's a month till this releases, i'll try and see if i'm lucky.

Yeah, they keep pre-orders open even after they've sold all their allocated stock, so it's a gamble.

Do you know of all the online shops that stock or are selling the UK rerelease? HMV says it's sold out,
