I'm just glad that a prohibitive budget and lack of efx technology spared us from 'Lawrence of Andromeda'. (or was that what ended up as 'Prometheus'?)

From Bill Hunt at the Digitalbits...

"And I personally find this to be the single best presentation of the film on home video to date..."

Wow, hold the front page, what insight...

I sold my 3-disc Blu-ray set to a friend because I thought all of those extras (the only reason I owned that set) were included.
As mentioned by FilmFreakasaurus, Liebman confirmed with Sony that these extras are missing and that there will be a replacement program, and updated the review. Hooray!

Nope, give me true classics any day over that stuff. Actually, truth be told, I've sold off most all my marvel after endgame.(I'm pretty much done with marvel) Between this set, and the upcoming Hitchcock UHD set, it's such an exciting time for filmlovers.

Wait there's a UHD Hitchcock box set coming??? This year is going to be way worse on my money than I was expecting (Bruce Lee Boxset, Wong Kar Wai Boxset, Fellini Boxset, Kino Lorber Blu-ray collections, maybe Bergman and Varda Boxset, and now UHD Hitchcock collection)

Yep there is one. It’s only been listed outside the US atm but I’m sure it’s coming here too. Don’t see why not. It’s scheduled for September apparently.

I take it this is the same restoration that was used for the BD?

I always wondered if the BD had a small bit of sharpening. I never got a clear answer, but maybe it's something else. Is this present on the UHD BD? There are other parts on the BD like this, but here are a couple of examples.

There certainly is some minor sharpening on the older 1 disc BD, but I'm fine with it because, oddly enough, the 1 disc BD has superior compression than the 2 disc 35 mbps encoded JP BD.

But the UHD will best both due to having ~166 GB to work with, so there's that.

I never found the sharpening on the LOA BD bothersome. Especially coming off that Superbit DVD where I saw it claimed the EE was baked into the negative!

Does Criterion own La Strada and Nights of Cabiria again? I got impatient and bought the Studio Canal release of Cabiria from earlier this year. It's a pretty nice restoration.

Is the sharpening on the UHD as well?

Also I remember the audio sounding extremely muffled in places on the BD. Is that still a thing on this new release?

And hey, maybe they can release them on UHD and transfer Summertime in its correct aspect ratio!
