If you have your accounts linked with Movies Anywhere you got the movie on both platforms and others like iTunes.

I've checked the Vudu version and it looks incredibly similar to disc for the pennies you pay. MA will have a slightly higher bitrate. I'm with you, I can't watch Prime, everything looks pale and washed out.

On my 4k projector it still mostly looks like overly compressed garbage. |

With that you get on a computer device. You login to your account or create one. Then you find where you link accounts. Now you can play it on Vudu and Amazon like I did. The title is "linked" across multiple platforms. You buy 1 copy and play it in many apps. I can watch them on both services by saying "Alexa" Launch Xbox Vudu or Launch Xbox Prime into my Amazon Alexa. I can also tell her "Alexa Pause " and get up without fumbling for a remote. I can do the same with Blu Ray discs too with Xbox and Alexa. ![]() TLDR Create a M.A. Login and Link all your accounts on M.A. guys and gals. Buy 1 movie play on multiple apps. Easy peasy. You had both but now you have a refund Lulz. Ggwp. Last edited by KubrickKurasawa; 03-27-2021 at 03:35 PM. |

Has anyone else here remarked on the amount of "mosquito noise" or MPEG noise in the UHD4K Lawrence Of Arabia? To me, it's quite noticeable in the blue skies and even some sand shots. I'm watching on a freshly calibrated XBR-55A9G with UBP-800M2 backend. I've had this setup for over a year and no other UHD disc I've watched exhibits this problem.
Very disappointed in this disc. Am hoping any 60th anniversary or subsequent release will eliminate this noise. |

Are you sure that's all compression related? The camera negative emulsion was damaged in some scenes due to the blistering desert heat and you may be seeing some of that show up in the image. They have never been able to fix those artifacts. |

Indeed it's imported to remember environmental factors, and lack of control over light sources pre digital caused varying shifts in quality. Green for example used to be a particularly bothersome colour for cinematographers to handle in film's with many demanding outdoor shots.

Thanks, FF. I had not heard about the damaged source materials before. I guess that could be what causes Crawling Sky, as I characterize it. Teeming larvae? Idk, but it's certainly distracting.

Just wondering, did we ever settle the debate about what exactly was going on with the picture quality of the physical UHD relative to how it looked in previous downloadable 4k formats?
I seem to recall people saying this looked soft on the disc compared against the digital version. |

That debate doesn't sound legit. From the 5.0 review on this site: "It's difficult to imagine the film ever looking any better than this." Choosing a download over a Sony bd-100 set is a tough sell.

Looks like LoA is coming in July as a double UHD. German Medimarkt Shop lists a Gandhi / Lawrence of Arabia 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo for only 19,99€
https://www.mediamarkt.de/de/product...y-2735504.html The price is already very low so I doubt whether if it will really come that way. Combos are not uncommon for sony, but unusual for the price. I still ordered and wait if this get a cancellation. Last edited by TKAdvancer; 05-15-2021 at 06:51 AM. |

Even so, I preordered the Columbia Classics box set when they announced it. Very happy with my purchase. |
