Now if you're over 70, then yes its 8% death rate, or if you're over 80 its 15%. But most workers are not over 70.

Only exception is if someone working age (20s-50s) takes care of an elderly person, then yes they should not expose themselves.
I’m starting to feel like we should not discuss this by mortality rate as it gives people a false sense of security. Perhaps it should be framed by your odds of ending up in the hospital with a maxed out deductible which will be like 5 to 20% if the hospital has the room and if it doesn’t the mortality rates going to rise quickly.

Mortality rates are certainly very low for younger, healthy people. But I'm sure many of you would be concerned if it spread to your parents, grandparents, older relatives and friends, etc. And has been mentioned, it could be very costly with the hospital stay and/or medical bills.

Yes that's a good point. One big reason "we're all in this together" is that if hospitals do fill up (pretty good chance), then when someone needs to go to hospital for non-coronavirus reason (e.g. car crash, etc) it's not going to be as easy to get treated. A good metaphor is someone saying "I'm good, its only the other side of the boat that is leaking"

I was at the supermarket yesterday and saw someone do a quick short cough cleanly into the inside of their arm (sounded like a smokers cough to me, I know because I am a smoker) and the looks they got were absolutely vicious. I think coughing at this point in time - even with your mouth covered, anything else is absolutey disgusting, coronavirus or no coronavirus - will get you looks worse than if you said Allah Akbar in public.

I heard some good news recently. I am not sure how solid it is though. People can correct me on this information if they want. RTÉ's Prime Time in Ireland & the BBC reported tonight that there is a reduction in cases of Covid-19 now appearing in Northern Italy. No new infections have been recorded from 10 towns in Italy within the past 2 weeks.

They need to close all NYC public schools, this is idiotic at this point. I would not blame teachers if they went on strike over this.

The Walgreens in my area, was fine.
I'm pretty sure they won't shut stores like, and grocery stores down, people need to eat and have essential supplies to live.
Stores like Target and Walmart will also most likely stay open, unless entire crews call out.

Like I said, I'm worried more about my parents who are both in there mid 70s, I don't want to lose them this year over this.

I can see stores setting limits to how many people can come in at a time. I wonder if that might have explained the line that Himmel saw.

Went to Sams the other day looking for toilet paper. Not a single roll in the entire store. Damn hoarders took all the paper. Things about to get medieval around here.

One of the teachers at a local school has coronavirus. My niece and nephew go to that school too. They are closing tomorrow to do a thorough cleaning, then reopen on Monday.

At least there are paper towels there. My Costco didn't have any of those either.
