Raises a good question: how will they ever have a salad bar again?

That's gone too, at least here it is. Self-serve salads/sushi/sandwiches at grocery stores and restaurants.

We don't have a lot of buffet style places in NYC (from what I know of) but I know we had them back home in CT. Sad that they'll be out of business.

Only fast food I can do is Chick-fil-A.

Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on reusable face masks? I have a few boxes of 100 disposable face masks, but I seem to be going through them at a rather fast rate since I dispose of them after each use. I was thinking of getting those reusable ones that I can just wash after every use. Seems like a good investment, but prices at Amazon are rather inflated at $20+ for a pack of 5.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I can order some good ones for a good price?

Are the disposable face masks getting wet? That gets expensive. Do you have a patio/outdoor area where you can lay them in sunlight? I do that for my two precious N95s.

https://www.snowjoe.com/

They have a box of 50 disposables for $25.

They also have a 5 pack of KN95 masks for $15, which is unreal given how in short supply they are and you don't have to mess with Amazon's comingled third party supplies.

Shipping seems to be fast, I ordered last Sunday and will receive them tomorrow via USPS.

This is eye opening. I knew it was dire but this really puts into perspective just how damaging this prolonged shutdown will be for people. Needs to end now. Many states are functioning fine being open.

You don’t get financial aid?

No, it's just supposed to be thrown out after every use. Not good to reuse them. At least with the reusable ones, I can wash after after every use and use them again. Seems like a waste to be throwing out disposable masks left and right, especially when I just wear them for something quick like taking out the garbage or going downstairs to my lobby to check the mail. I forsee having to wear a mask for the remainder of the year 2020, so I would think buying a pack of 5-7 reusable masks would be a great investment.

I got aid for the spring and fall terms but I am guessing aid is structured more to pay for those terms and less for the summer term. I did get a decent amount from the Pell Grant but it's nowhere near enough. Unless a LOT more comes tomorrow I'll be dropping my summer load. I doubt it will, although it seems NMSU is having issues keeping enrolled right now so you never know.

Can’t you take less classes for the summer term?

Well the point was to knock out the non-program specific 12 credits I need to finish up my degree this year. Also the Pell requires full-time enrollment, which is a minimum of 12 credits. Guessing if I get any more aid tomorrow it will also require minimally 12 credits. I'd be willing to do 15 if that's what it takes but financial aid isn't really being informative right now so we'll see. Tomorrow is my deadline for them because I don't want to start school work late and I'm not buying textbooks without the certainty the tuition will be paid.

Wearing a mask to take out the garbage or go the mailbox is utterly ridiculous.

Over 100,000 dead. No precaution is too much at this point.

It's not your place to tell anyone else how to live.

That said, I wouldn't (and don't) do it...but it's not going to hurt anyone to wear one so why bother judging?

This is what I don't understand: being overcautious hurts no one. Why does anyone feel the need to criticize others?
