This is the part of the movie where the country comes together in a grand display of unity with caroling and candlelight vigils, before the hero conquers the aliens/villains/virus.

Bill Pullman's speech in Independence Day was one of the top 3 presidential movie speeches of all time.

Agree or disagree? Thanks, I'm glad you agree.

Going from updates from the BBC; Trump is not seriously ill but he is suffering from fever. He is going to the military hospital for some more tests as a precaution. He will be staying there for a few days but he will still be working through his duties.

dublin, not just “a military hospital”, it’s a renowned joint military medical center, namely the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, formerly known before the merger to us DC/Maryland locals (when my wife worked there in ‘the Tower’) as Bethesda Naval Hospital

it’s a good idea the President transferred there because doctors and nurses having experience in the emergency departments during this pandemic are well aware that a person can enter an ED with only mild respiratory symptoms and still, while there, like even within the hour, quickly decompensate to needing to be intubated

A memo released Friday by Trump's physician, Sean Conley, said Trump received a single, eight gram dose of Regeneron’s polyclonal antibody cocktail as well as zinc, vitamin D, famotidine, melatonin and a daily aspirin. The Regeneron antibody cocktail is an experimental antibody cocktail treatment.

The Graham Norton Show has resumed it's broadcasts tonight with a small group of audience members on BBC One.

Due to Covid-19; a limited number of audience members are officially allowed to come back into the studio at Television Centre in London.

They all have to wear face masks while they sit with own groups or pods from within their seats. Graham & the studio guests don't have to wear face masks while the show is being pre-recorded. However; the big red couch were all of the guests sit together is not there while the guests are facing the audience for this series. Graham sits in the middle of them with his desk & big screen behind him. All studio guests are socially distanced while they comply with UK public health guidelines. They all sit on red chairs provided by the studio crew while the show is being pre-recorded in London for it's Friday night broadcast.

Although some of the guests can be a guest on the show remotely via video call while they are in their homes.

It looks so refreshing compared to the last layout. Do you agree with me?

Love Graham Norton...James Corden totally ripped off his format.

Despite being experimentalhttps://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...n#post18145525

I think it was a good clinical decision. You have to consider Regeneron’s ^ latest data, the known facts that the President is in his seventies and obese and unbeknownst to us may also have other comorbidities that we are unaware of like HTN all affecting his mortality rate. ctujackbauer may silently wonder why not administer convalescent plasma from the get-go? Well, the monoclonal antibody cocktail specifically targets the spike protein - https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04452318
and the doctor can control its dose much better than with convalescent plasma.

No, actually I wonder why you're positive on this experimental treatment (regeneron) and against a different experimental treatment (plasma).

The only difference I can see is that you've taken regeneron and not plasma.

Re-read the last sentence of my last post, i.e. it is a better-defined product. My wife informs me that management should be individualized to each patient and of what we know publicly about the patient, the monoclonal antibody cocktail seems suited to him at this time.

I have nothing against convalescent plasma, per se as you might recall - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...a#post17497828
only the way in which it received an Emergency Use Authorization and the consequences to others.

Well Penton-Man, I agree with you on this treatment. I believe that zinc is also a key component. From my research, zinc interferers with the virus's ability to replicate within the cell. If true, then good news for our president and for all of mankind.

You sure you’re not agreeing with me just because I gave ol Bethesda Naval Hospital (before the merge) a shout-out on the last page ?

That would be fabulous, but I caution counting on Regeneron's cocktail becoming a ‘magic bullet’. Most would be happy with REGN10933+REGN10987 turning out to simply be a game-changer, hopefully like with a safe and highly efficacious vaccine to come, which many would take. Your magic bullet to cover all scenarios for the population may well turn out to be a combination of cutting-edge therapies, given at the right time at the right doses and good vaccine(s).

Importantly, don’t forget that in addition to the President, today, due to coronavirus there were about 50,000 new cases, 835 deaths in the U.S. and tonight there are 30,000+ patients hospitalized with COVID-19.

How does plasma help?
I've been donating since July/August last year.

I wasn't trying to minimize any potential benefits, just trying to be accurate since it hasn't been authorized under the EUA. I'm sure people much smarter than myself are recommending how to treat this & I wish nothing but the best outcome. And, thank you very much for your contributions to the road to progress against this virus. I know it's much appreciated by many, including myself. The president's doctor is expected to give an update on his condition shortly, waiting on that now.

no prob , Bucket. I just hope that with all the attention provided to such a high-profile patient, people don’t forget about the other less well known individuals, with less risk factors, at that, who also received high quality care but have not been as lucky as him, e.g. - https://www.wkbw.com/news/local-news...hting-covid-19

even if the President pulls through (including not becoming a ‘long hauler’), his outcome should not in any way dismiss the seriousness of this virus

goin riding now before it gets too hot
