Nope, none near by that i trust any way. Luckily my employer is willing to work with me if it comes to that. But there's plenty of parents in our community not so lucky.

Agreed. I stand by what I said before about the subways/public transportation - not just in NYC, but everywhere: They need to keep them open for people who rely on them to get from one place to another. I.e., not everyone has a car.

I had to take the train recently in my area, and it was almost deserted. So, if you just practice "social distancing" you may still have a problem, but at the same time there are a lot fewer people on the train that you will need to worry about.

For those who have been laid off there are a number of companies that desperately need people: Target, Walmart, CVS, Papa Johns just to name a few.

Scan the news to see who is hiring.

Michigan’s Gov Whitmer has a presser scheduled for 11am. Looks like we’ll be the next “stay at home” state.

I'd think twice about applying for work at chain stores right now. That's where all the people are herding up and without protective gear for the employees, getting sick will just be a matter of time.

The ad industry apparently isn't spending money right now. Tune to any news station and all you'll hear are the same ads playing over and over. I'm sick to death hearing about male genital razors, car commercials for well-qualified lessees and Dr. Phil's stupid PSAs

Keep this in mind.

Currently, they have nailed down that the virus transmits through oral discharge (mainly through saliva). It doesn't yet have any airborne capability. That means a couple of things:

-If someone coughs or sneezes, they better do it into a mask or a tissue, or immediately wash their hands if they do it into it
-Whatever surfaces you touch, make sure you wash your hands or sanitize with hand sanitizer. If they are surfaces you own or have control over, get some cleaning wipes like Clorox Disinfecting Wipes and go to town.
-Drink plenty of water. Whether you're sick or well, stay hydrated.

Do you have a source for this?

How COVID-19 Spreads
Person-to-person spread
The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

So unless the above info is outdated, the primary way it is transmitted is through breathing it in, and secondary through touching contaminated surfaces. Would be interesting to know what the approximate risk ratio is for each.

Confirmed... schools closed another week too. Date of return is scheduled for April 13th, but we know that’s not going to happen.

Our area hasn't received an update on when the kids will go back to school. From the looks of it though they may not even be going back at all. They just sent out the second packet of work for the kids. And from what I am hearing they have weeks 3 and 4 already set up. So it wouldn't be that fair fetched to guess they might not be back until after Spring Break.

This issue or the National Guard:

Quote:
Trump urged Congress to get a deal done and, during the Sunday briefing, responded to criticism that his administration was sluggish to act. He cited his cooperation with the three states hardest hit - New York, Washington and California - and invoked a measure to give governors flexibility in calling up the national guard under their control, while the federal government covers the bill.
https://www.kob.com/news/hill-talks-...82130/?cat=649

So it's up to the Governors if they want to call in the NG, not the Fed.

BTW . . . if you received your 2020 Census in the mail I urge you to fill it out online. Takes about 10 minutes. Be a good citizen.

The best example might be the Diamond Princess cruise ship.

People were isolated but not allowed to leave their cabin except for an hour or two of standing outside on the deck with some proper distancing. More people kept getting it over time due to the air system, no matter how much social distancing or isolation.
