Not trying to get political, but I personally thought the idea of quarantining NY was a good idea and would really help slow the spread in other parts of the U.S. NY is where majority of cases are and if we can keep everyone out of NY, it could potentially save a lot of lives. So, not sure why that idea was thrown in the trash. But that's just my opinion.

I think maybe because it portends martial law. That's my guess anyway.

But (IMO) the real stat is those who have recovered: 4,435. That's a very low recovery rate.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
The low numbers of recoveries Lee is because it takes several weeks to be considered officially recovered and the vast majority of cases are newer than that. For example 97% of South Korea's closed cases have had a positive recovery. That figure will be similar here in the U.S. in 3-4 weeks.

IMO, the only stat that really matters at this point is the number of patients in ICU. There could be 10x as many cases as being reported, but there is no way to know without widespread testing, or at least, blanket testing on a random sample in an area to get some kind of an estimate. But the patients in ICU were infected weeks ago and is so an accurate assessment of the extent of the virus as of a few weeks ago.

Just Google "ibuprofen coronavirus" and there are several articles debunking it as myth.

I guess this is what it feels like to live in medieval times where the life expentancy was only 40 years old and every time you left your house your life was at risk.

I assume this means stores will continue to be closed until then . This thing just can’t end soon enough.

That's also happening with people who are recovering. Ventilators are being freed up on a daily basis. Cuomo has also stated that patients can and will be shifted from city hospitals to state ones, where they might not be as overrun, or there might be an available ventilator, or whatever else.

More patients will die yes, It will trend up as we head towards a projected peak in the next 2-3 weeks, before dropping down again. There's already signs that the rate of hospitalizations appears to be dropping.
Let's not forget a ventilator is also freed up when someone recovers.

Agreed. I'm American, and have been to Paris & London & ridden the subways there (no car when I was vacation there, so took the subways everywhere). I found the hygiene of the people there fine.

Conversely, I've ridden the train/subway on a regular basis in the U.S. - in numerous cities. In fact, back before I started working from home due to the virus - I would take the train to work almost every day.

And, I can honestly say that Americans are a lot filthier & stink much worse than anyone in Europe. People in this country are %$#%@# filthy. I've had to sit near people on the train here that smelled of pi$$ & other stenches - and it wasn't just homeless people. I've also seen women change their baby's shi$$y diaper on the train - in front of other people (this turned my stomach, so I had to go to another car). No wonder the virus is spreading so fast over here - this country has some of the most unhygienic & filthiest people on the planet.
Incorrect wrt exponential death rate.

The rest of the post is misguided opinion and Anecdotes, which are by definition, irrelevant to science.

I personally know too many people who honestly, genuinely believe this isn't real, is being greatly exaggerated by the 24-hour news cycle or is ignorant to how it is clearly crippling our health facilities.
Think positive because things are improving. You just don’t realize it yet.

Hopefully at least it’ll end not long after, at least the lockdowns. I never knew how much I’d miss going into stores until I couldn’t anymore. Target & the Supermarket is all I’ve been to.
