Lots of sites reported on that, but none fact-checked. It was reported later in the week that that info was incorrect - he never went to the clinic, and he did have insurance - his dad called the clinic, and asked what to do, and he was (correctly) advised to go straight to the hospital, which he did. His son had a heart attack on the way, and died hours later in the hospital (he was tested positive for the virus there).
And since that time, public health officials have pulled back from linking his death to the coronavirus and is conducting further investigation.

I noticed they finally updated their data. It seems the peak resource utilization date for my state has now been reduced by two weeks and its claiming we hit our peak 3 days ago; big difference!

I do find it interesting they don't track real numbers for beds needed for coronavirus patients; those numbers are all projected unlike the deaths which has both real and projected numbers. Looking at the overall US numbers though, the site's data is projecting 106,408 beds being needed as of today, but there are less than 400,000 listed as being infected to date. Something seems off with the beds needed projection.

no they haven't been recently, why I mentioned that they all state that the causes of death were unknown when it wasnt Covid19 related...

Usually that either means suicide, or drug.overdose, and rarely cancer that wasn't made known to the public.

Flushing out the true cause of the global toilet paper shortage amid coronavirus pandemic

Quote:
When the history of the coronavirus pandemic is written, the vanishing of toilet paper might rank as just a footnote in an otherwise dark and frightening account. But it might be a very long, complex and even wise footnote, because toilet paper — or rather, the lack of it — turns out to reveal a great deal about who we are and how we behave in a crisis.

1. We’re buying too much toilet paper because we’re panicked there won’t be any when we need it.
I still don't understand why stores are letting customers buy 3x24 packs of toilet paper, no wonder there's a shortage. If manufacturers stopped producing items and made the maximum of 9 rolls per pack, then stores could still limit 3x9 packs and lessen the demand.

"There's run on bog-rolls. Make our smallest multi-packs forty-eight rolls. That way the average consumer will be buying 144 rolls with every shop. We're literally printing money!"

Quote:
2. We’re actually using way more than usual at home because most people are sheltering in place rather than using the facilities while at work, school, restaurants or other public places.
Sorry to be graphic, but I really don't understand how other peoples' bowels work, why are they taking 14 dumps a day? I maybe considered a "Home Shitter", but I master my own BMs. Once a day, three sheets a day...

And considering the states of most public bathrooms, I'm not sure people even use toilet paper, they don't seem to understand bowl-dynamics, hand-washing practices or simple flushing techniques.

California makes mammoth deal to get 200 million masks a month for 5 months. Mostly N95s.

That's absolutely great. California is sort of a country onto itself as far as its economy goes, so they do have deeper pockets than most to pull off something like this.

Not me but I'm weird, I only wear masks when I expect to be around lots of people, so at a store or a restaurant. Don't like wearing them for extended periods of time because they make my face itch so I'm always tempted to reach up there and touch them.

I just hope it's not at the expense of the supply of other states. But the governor has shown true leadership during this crisis (like Cuomo) and generosity toward other states in need. So I'm sure he'll do the right thing if other states are in real need of some of the masks he has procured. Never was much of a fan of Newsom, but he scored some big points with this.

It's just too risky to grab money from those germ infested dispensers. I'm probably a boon to the homeless who have almost completely taken over these buildings

I spray Lysol on all personal incoming Amazon packaging I receive before tearing them open. I sometimes even spray Lysol on the contents. Who knows who has touched my stuff.

I don't worry too much about viruses attaching themselves to my jeans or hoodies. I spray them down with Lysol when I get home sometimes but I don't have the energy to stick to a regiment of wipedowns and trips to the Laundromat on a daily basis. Thank goodness I have a limited wardrobe. Now we're supposed to wipe down food containers from supermarkets and delivery takeout

As far as masks, I've re-used the ones I've purchased at the corner store a couple times. I'm careful not to touch the masks while I'm in the wild and I spray them with Lysol after each use but I was never 100% confident these measures were very effective.

I've been waking up sweaty at night whenever I go the bathroom and in the mornings - has anyone seen excessive sweating being mentioned as a symptom of coronavirus? I had an EKG about a year ago and other than a bit of age-related wear and tear on a valve, my heart seems to be in good shape. I've also been getting tension headaches more frequently. Ambient room temperature can't be a factor since we've been having mild weather lately and I haven't had to turn on the heater.

The plague of man child Youtubers, who represent the lowest common denominator of our beloved community. Their ignorance, purility, outright selfish behaviour behaviour has now become a public health hazard for Americans. What an absolute disgrace.

No and no plans to either. Don't think they're necessary outside as long as your not within 6 feet of someone and that's not an issue where I run (wide streets and fire roads and avoiding trails).

Indeed, a word to walkers...pick a side of the pavement / sidewalk to allow for current guidelines. So sick of inconsiderate people walking bang in the middle.
