I got my stimulus payment but I almost feel guilty for getting it since I'm still employed and probably will be for the foreseeable future (thank goodness). The money will likely go towards my May rent. Still waiting for my State refund, though. My State will probably claim that they're broke

Yeah, what else is there to use it for? It ain't gonna pay my mortgage or my building maintenance bills, that's for sure. Luckily, I'm still employed or I'd be totally F-ed with that kind of income.

Isn't that the point of stimulus money...to stimulate the economy? It's not gonna do any good if all of it is spent on toilet paper, canned goods and hand sanitizer.

No. This money is not considered income. It won’t be taxable and it won’t affect your income tax bracket for 2020.

Let them spend their money anyway they want to. For some it's small lifeline to cover rent, bills, etc. For others it's an additional $1200 they didn't have, don't need it to pay bills, so it's found money. Buying a new TV or such does help the economy.

Yeah for me it helps me pay for bills and my car while I wait for work to re-open. Also makes it easier for me to justify smaller purchases I wouldn't make otherwise due to dwindling funds. Won't be buying anything major till this is over though, other than more education.

Joaquin Phoenix wants prisoners in New York released

https://comicbook.com/dc/2020/04/15/...k-coronavirus/

He’s a nut job. A prisoner was released in Florida over the virus and then committed murder the next day. Now he’s back in prison.

I’d be ok with him housing a few at one of his homes.

On another note- an anonymous restaurant will donate lunch for my place of employment tomorrow. Whoever they are, thank you! That was just awesome.
Even better news for us, one of our RN’s returned to work today after quarantine. TWICE she’s been exposed to this virus. We’re all just happy to have her back and see her beautiful smile cheering everyone up.

Park it in a savings account emergency fund. Almost none of us are guaranteed a future income so I try to live several paychecks ahead if I'm suddenly unemployed.

Certainly going to stimulate Amazon and the big box store sales. Most everything else non-essential is closed and probably will be for another month or two.

New York to require masks starting this weekend. Anytime social distancing can't be maintained. Don't know if this means requiring masks at indoor locations all the time or not. But in the city I'm sure it's hard to maintain the 6 foot rule. I'm imagine many will be flipping it up and down as people go by and others leaving it on.

Yes, very much so! That is why I don't even go out for a walk anymore. Even here in Queens it is impossible to keep 6 feet away. Even though it's not as crowded here as Manhattan, sidewalks are very narrow and there's at least a few people walking in every block. So when walking past people, you can't stay further than a few feet away. Very annoying!

You're disabled and living with your parents so they likely list you as a dependent. That's my guess as to why you aren't getting any money. Your parents will likely get money for you as a dependent.
