I didn't even say he went off the rails to begin with, Indy introduced that language, but I will say he did in comparison to his normal demeanor. However you want to describe it, it was still aggressive language that very few, if any people in his position have used during such a conference. The people that watched it live on reddit with me were all freaking out whenever he'd drop another one-liner. People can interpret it however they want, but for anyone that actually watches these press briefings live every day, this was a crazy shift. Your interpretations may vary.

You said and I quote 'he totally lost it' which is not far off 'he went off the rails' regardless of whose words I quoted.

He didn't do either thing. He actually pretty calmy explained the facts of what had happened. Was he pissed, obviously, but I have seen him far more animated than that on news shows outside of his daily reports, so it was really not that different to how I have seen him behave on pretty much a daily basis for the last month.

Yes, he was rather calm in laying his smackdowns, which were plenty. You can lose your composure in a calm sort of way. He aired out his frustrations, which I'm sure he has many. I hope he feel better now in that regard, but I'm sure he'll regret some of those things he said.

He probably did it due to pent-up frustrations, which can be toxic. I don't blame him at all, New York is being pointed at as the state that's the shining example of how to mishandle a pandemic. Nothing he does is right in the eyes of some people so he's venting. Don't blame him one bit.

He absolutely does not, and if you watched you would see him say multiple times that they (we) need federal assistance, especially when it comes to testing.
