When we shop at Walmart which seems to be the only store with the one way aisles, when we overtake people we simply speak loudly; "coming through!" and people just move to the side while we go around them on the opposite side. Works real well.

This article from CNN says basically not to worry about getting coronavirus from packaging. Although it's still a good idea from a piece of mind standpoint to wash your hands after opening a box or container, the odds of getting it that way are extremely low.

There will come a tipping point when states will have to begin the process of reopening non-essential business'. Congress is becoming resistive to continuing stimulus borrowing. And that will present a problem because it won't be like switching a light bulb from off to on. Social distancing is going to have to be followed which means said business' will be operating at a fraction of their normal sales which to many will not be acceptable. They won't be able to survive as a business with 50 or 60% less sales.
Even today with those stores that have limited number of consumers at a time, they are seeing a drop in sales. Target just said they have seen their profits fall because yes they are selling lots of groceries and no they aren't making a whole lot of money doing so because groceries are low margin items. It's the same for Walmart. It's their online sales of non-essential items that are carrying the companies not their instore sales. This is 2020 . . . a time when rents are high both for consumers and companies. How will either survive when revenue and salaries are reduced for a long period (months) of time? Prior to the pandemic 74% of all people were living paycheck to paycheck with little or no savings. Has that changed? I don't think so. It has probably gotten worse. |

In 4 weeks we have seen 26+million people put out of work. How long do you think it will take to put them all back to work? A year? 2 years? Longer?

And we are not done with job losses. Next up . . . municipalities; State, County, City, Town, etc. The cuts and furloughs are coming.
