Here's what Washington Post has to say about this document:

This document appears to be based off older data before lockdowns and was not intended to be an actual forecast - it was only working data. A great example of how you have to be very careful what news you trust these days.
As a former Ars person - I can attest personally that despite the occasional interesting article, the website exists mostly as a circle jerking echo chamber for all things anti-Republican.

Oh well...protest away I guess.

I really wonder if NY will ever open up. I can't see how they are going to do so. My company is already setting a date of June 1st of when our office will re-open, but I just don't see that happening. Re-opening NY will just cause more cases to spike up!

Funny thing that Cuomo was saying yesterday that everyone should wear a mask and it's disrespectful if you don't do so. He even said that it's such a simple thing to do. I'm not the biggest fan of the guy, but oh man, he was so right!! That's what has been getting me so annoyed all along. People in this world just don't do the simplest things and that's why messes like this happen. A lot of times, what's expected of us in life is so little yet somehow, stupid people still don't want to do it.

I thought this 3000 deaths a day in June was debunked? I see easily see well over 100,000 deaths, but not 3000 a day next month.

Do you truly believe that the virus cares about your age? I'm all for modern medicine & finding a viable vaccine to fight against King Corona but that could take years to develop SAFELY. I'm over 40 & I can not work from home & I have been going into work since all of this started. What about folks like me? Guess we're screwed then but oh well, right? Folks have to be allowed to return work & earn money to provide for their families & not every occupation has a nice "WFH" option.

I can’t work from home anyway since I work at Fed Ex. So that’s not feasible For a lot of people.

No but you can't have everyone staying home forever and you can't have everyone go back to work at once. So you play the numbers game. Those less likely to end up in a hospital goes back to work - and you focus on protecting the most vulnerable.

Thats not what your previous post said though, you put an age limit on the virus. And I never said to have everyone go back to work at once. Have a phased plan to open everything back up & let's move forward in a positive way & get folks working.

Anyone else think these selective rollouts/reopenings of business is going to drive people to even more protests?

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is letting florists, clothing stores, sporting goods stores, and bookstores to reopen if they have curbside pickup. But he's keeping everything else closed: offices, restaurants, shopping malls.

It's becoming a very "Socialism for thee, but not for me" situation for declaring what business is essential.

I think it is a plan to move forward and mitigate the spread of the virus. Do I agree with it? Partly but I also want folks to actually practice good decision making in regards to social distancing too. Just look how fast he shut down OC's beaches after the city reopened them last week. Folks want to go outside but not adhere to the new regulations.

Really? Why are you arguing just for the sake of arguing?

Anyone politicizing this are the problem. Not a part of the solution.
