She spoke to somebody over the phone from unemployment and was told she earns too much to qualify for unemployment which is absurd. Her boss said they should qualify. She previously was able to collect several years ago when she was temporarily put on work share.

Human resources said they're trying to switch them over to work share which should solve the issue, but it's been almost 2 weeks since they said that and still no news. They're aware nobody can collect and are working on it.

So she's missing her 16 hours per week in unemployment, plus the $600 stimulus per week. Next week if she doesn't get a payment she'll be missing 3 weeks' worth. Even if she finally gets a payment, I don't know if she'll be able to get those past $600 stimulus payments she's supposed to be getting. So far that's $1,200 in the past 2 weeks plus her missing hours (16 x 2). Will she be able to get those back stimulus payments once she's on work share? I don't think anybody knows at this point.

Meanwhile I still can't log into the "get my payment" system. No sign of a check. Is there an email for the IRS I can use to ask about my situation? They're not taking phone calls currently.

Horrible system all-around. I hear talk about weekly $600 stimulus payments for those on work share or unemployment, and they're talking about more rounds of stimulus checks, yet I haven't seen anything and my girlfriend can't seem to get anywhere with unemployment.
At a bare minimum she should at least get the $600 per week. That goes out to everyone who files unemployment due to Covid-19.

The percentage of people who test positive.

The rate will naturally go down as they ramp up testing to include anyone who wants one (such as those who have no symptoms, but suspect they may have been exposed), rather than just those who are showing symptoms.

So that chart is only indicative of greater testing capacity the last several weeks, rather than improving conditions regarding covid 19.

Years ago, I would have made a bet that nothing could possibly be more amusingly mindless than the 9/11 conspiracy video, "Loose Change", and I would have lost that bet.
did you see that youtube took the video down. censorship at its finest. god forbid people hear something that goes against what they are pushing us through their narrative. we are becoming more and more like China by the day, its sickening.

10 Gs for potentially life-altering effects? That's pretty cheap. Even the Army pays better than that.

kids are young and dumb, i was no different.

10 g's to someone could certainly be worth that risk to someone in need especially since there isnt evidence at this time that there is life altering effects. its all speculation

I proposed something similar back in March, but no one seemed to take notice of it. I believe would it would be largely beneficial in multiple ways with minimal downside. Not only in creating a sizable workforce, but also providing an ample supply of convalescent plasma to later be used on higher risk people. Since this post, I've mentioned the idea elsewhere, and have fine-tuned it to only recruit people with no risk factors like HBP, diabetes, obesity, etc..thus minimizing the risk of this group further. I also added that they would be compensated well.

Of these, only a small portion of them will probably need hospitalization, and very few if any will actually die. This would have to be a voluntary thing of course. If we did this with several thousand people across multiple living spaces, it would shrink transmissions, and boost the work force much quicker than just a shelter in place strategy would. It would also have the extra benefit of creating a large pool of blood plasma that can be used towards making antibody serums that will save other lives (especially the high risk population). That plasma is something many hospitals are after right now.

Again totally ridiculous, but would work. It's basically herd immunity, but in a strategic, staggered, and organized way.

Wouldn't this "huge living space" in NYC take a while to build and cost a great deal of money? Why just 18-30 year olds? Why not up to 45-50 year olds?

No. We have thousands of hotels right now that are currently not being used that can easily be shifted to this purpose. In fact, there are several hotels set up right now as self-isolation locations where hospitals can send patients to if they can't isolate at home (due to living with a high risk person for instance). We also have thousands of public schools that are also not being used, and could be quickly transformed into living spaces if need be.

because 18-30 is greatly at a lesser risk of serious complications than the higher age brackets.

no matter how some people here try to paint the picture otherwise.

Yes, there's a much lower risk with that age group, plus they make up a good portion of the workforce. It could potentially be expanded to people under 40, but the older you go the more risk you take on, and this is designed (hypoethetically) to be as low risk as possible.

The biggest issue is the cost as far as I see. It wouldn't be cheap as far as compensation goes when you extrapolate that to 10,000 plus people, plus paying for their food, medical testing, and so forth.
