SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is scheduled to provide an update regarding restaurant openings and the state coronavirus response at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 28. The governor said restaurants are on track to reopen inside dining Monday, June 1. KRQE News 13 will live stream the conference on this page.

Come on, 30+ hours a week! I already know tickets are going to be way down, we'll see how it affects my usual 34-37 hours a week. Helps that I am one of the few that consistently move fast and can handle all the dishwashing duties but that's less of a factor during a severe downturn. Just glad it looks like it will finally be happening. Also quite grateful for all the CARES Act funds I got that got me through the past 9 weeks of being laid off during this pandemic.

I won't pull it up if I see they're not going to be wearing a mask either. But it's rare that I need to use it out here, mainly streets, lonely trails or fire roads (narrow trails is the only place I would need to use it, according to the 6 foot rule).

Always amuses me when I see someone with a mask who's either touching it or wearing it around their chin. Either wear it properly or don't wear it at all.

And there are reports of the virus been expelled over 20-25 feet depending on conditions.

There's just so much contradictory advice flying around.

Yeah but how long do droplets of spit, sweat or whatever stay circulating in the air from someone who is heavily exhaling as they run?

Folks, please take heed - this thread cannot descend into a social/political hodge-podge as it did earlier today. There are plenty of other forums around the web where issues of that nature can be discussed without infringing on those venue's rules, so please keep that discussion off-site.

Further infractions of this nature will result in stiffer sanctions than a whole bunch of deleted posts. Thank you and let's keep things on topic.

You mean all that fun stuff like snot, drool, sweat, etc? Just another reason if I were a pedestrian or a hiker, I'd try to avoid areas frequented by runners right now. That's not even taking into consideration the runners who relieve themselves during a run.

A little mazel (Yiddish: luck) came my way. Went to Walmart to pick up a few things and needed to replenish some bandages I use. While I was over in the Pharmacy section my son Alex came rushing over with a 50 count pack of masks: $29.95. We have been reusing the same two now for a number of weeks. Could not find them anywhere. All full of staples where the elastic cord came free.

Went to go pick up my new prescription and only a handful of people were wearing masks.

Yup, although I couldn't personally run a course again after it exploded, I understand the reasons other people chose to do it.

The 2013 marathon was halted (at the tail end) as it was during the race, the pandemic would still be happening when the race would be run. They took extra precautions in 2014, if the pandemic is over I'm sure they'll do the same thing (new guidelines et cetra).

They wouldn't be able to ensure the participants safety to a reasonable degree.

The CFO if my firm said we will be working remotely "through the back half of the year." He kept it pretty vague which was smart. Hard to give a specific answer now.

At least for the next 90 days, things are staying status quo. He said there's a lot to discuss before we can go back into the office. The cubicles, common areas, bathrooms, and offices all have to have guidelines about keeping distance. Elevators are another factor: how many people are allowed in elevators at once, how will it be enforced, etc. We share a bank of six elevators with ten other floors.

It's still hard for me to grasp these crazy times.

I knew it would be. Hope it's able to take place next April. If so, I'll be there.

For anyone STILL waiting for their Stimulus Check in the USA:

To get through to a live IRS agent after calling the 1-800-919-9835 number.
- Don’t press anything at all just listen..
- It’ll ask for language preference. Don’t press anything) just wait till the message ends.
- They’ll continue to talk. If they start asking you additional questions (that means you messed up or they heard some background noise) hang up try again.
- Repeat step 1 and 2 until you start hearing music playing instead of asking you questions.. ( I think it’s like around the 2:10 time of u waiting) . If you hear music playing you got threw you were one of the chosen ones!
It took me 6 times to get it to go through.
So while not a quick process, it does work.

Apparently mine was released today so I should have it soon.

Oh no I've never run the Boston Marathon, I'm not good enough to qualify for that thing. I've been lucky enough that I've never suffered a serious injury in running, at my age I'm not sure I'd be able to recover enough to keep running.

I was going to reply to MrHT's post of that article with this quote from it yesterday, but didn't feel like chiming in on this thread. But it's still in my clipboard! So here's this:

"That doesn’t mean the situation will always be as dire. There are already four endemic coronaviruses that circulate continuously, causing the common cold. And many experts think this virus will become the fifth — its effects growing milder as immunity spreads and our bodies adapt to it over time."

This is hardly new news about the covid, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be researched and written about.
