The more a pathogen is contagious (and measles is one of the worst) the more % of the population needs to be immune to keep it under control.

And with the long amount of time we are waiting for a Coronavirus vaccine, a new strain has developed. So it's going to be a never ending story. Think about it; if the strain changed when the virus moved from China to Europe, do you think it will stop changing now? I feel it will keep changing and we have to keep coming up with new vaccines.

1) there are a lot more than 2 strains of covid-19, every time someone new catches it there is a small chance that it will mutate, it could be useful to determine origin (i.e. the one going around the US came from Europe, the one around Montreal came from the US...) But mostly meaning less for everything else. If it does evolve to something very different it will get a different name we won't be talking about COVID-19 any more.

2) immunology does not work that way.

a) cowpox is a disease that humans can only catch from cows, it causes very mild symptoms in humans and is none transmissible from one human to an other. On the other hand small pox is a disease that can't be caught by cows is transmissible in humans and had a 30% death rate. Edward Jenner noticed milkmaids that all had caught cowpox could not catch smallpox and so he created the first vaccine (word comes from vaccinus latin for "from the cow") if cowpox is enough of a training wheels to teach our body to effectively fight off smallpox there is no reason to assume that a covid-19 vaccine won't do the same for all the variants of covid-19 out there

Teenagers and adults should receive a tetanus booster every 10 years (recommended at 15, 25, 35, 45 years, etc.)

like your brain your body forgets stuff with tetanus it remembers how to fight it for around a decade with others it can be longer (for ever) or much shorter (measured in months) It is not because it evolved to be so different but once you get better and it is gone from your system your body wastes less energy building useless antibodies....

first, no need to panic, it is not the zombie apocalypse. We can all do stupid things that make it worst for us and everyone else but we can also make decisions that make things better for us and everyone else (and that way keep us mostly safe). It is not like "the infected" will try braking your door and windows to get to you.

working from home (like you said you are doing) is keeping you safe, staying at home playing a video game, watching a film, surfing the web are all keeping you safe... Yes if some idiot walks around with a sign that says " French kiss for anyone that wants it" he is possibly endangering himself and all the other idiots that accept his offer but all you need to do is not accept that offer.

second there are a lot of people talking out of their a$$. People playing the virology experts, the easy thing is if it is not the WHO, CDC, Dr. Fauci or the equivalent for other countries, don't even bother listening to them.

third the experts, like us, only have a few months of knowledge of this disease, so there are a lot of unknowns and things can evolve with time. Also sometimes things sound contradictory when they are not (if I say " there is no chance I will win the next 5 jackpots "or I say " if I buy tickets there is an infinitesimal chance that will win the next 5 jackpots" both are saying the same thing even if the latter wants to play up something that is impossible)

lastly except for the first few days of Wuhan when nothing was known, what has been said about transmission has not really changed. It comes out of an infected person's respiratory track in those droplets. Those droplets don't fly too far and tend to fall (which is why there is that distance that is discussed). It is not aerosol spread and it can't fill a whole room. Part of the problem is that there is also a lot of noise on this (people that are not virologist that make useless experiments (like aerosol sprays filling up a room).

so nobody thought it was odd what happened to so called free masks governor of tenn apparently screwed up on from video I posted I have message the mayor of my city facebook next time he does a briefing on virus he better watch that video and needs to warn folks about situation

I'm sure a lot of folks didn't watch it still wearing the mask with registered pesticide, not sure how they will throw the boxes of masks away and the governor of tenn needs to get new masks asap

2) Covid-19 is a respiratory illness, it attacks peoples upper respiratory track (nose, mouth, throat) and lower respiratory track (bronchi, lungs) food meets the former long before the food reaches the stomach, the later is on a different track then the former and will never reach the stomach

Wanna be on the safe side though....just microwave the food you bought for 30 seconds, 60 if you wanna be extra careful. That'll do the trick.

Heat is a good killer but he should ask a professional for the timings. there is also the fact that if we are talking take out it was probably put in the container while the food was still hot enough to kill the virus and then sealed. This would be a bit more of an issue if the waiter bringing you the food on the plate dropped some covid-19 in your plate.

I think I've figured out why I was waking up sweaty every night despite the A/C being turned on: a combination of my overgrown hair and a pillow case made of a velour-like material. Well, I finally got a hair cut today so hopefully that will do the trick. If I still wake up sweaty tomorrow morning, I'll get rid of the pillowcase. If I still have a problem, then all I've got left is I probably have COVID-19

I really hope people really aren't that idiotic to think this pandemic is over. I'm spotting fewer people here in NY wearing masks outside. It used to be that 95% of people were wearing one, but now I'm noticing that it's probably 80% now wearing one.

And then people have the audacity to protest about ending the lockdown! Well the lockdown never ends because people aren't doing their part to wear a freakin' mask!! Come on, man!
