@ around 6 o'clock PM today (Pacific Time), Mexico will surpass France officially with over 30,000 departed.

Yesterday I watched some celebrations for the 4th of July ...
People weren't self-distancing and the vast majority weren't wearing masks.

They say that it takes roughly two weeks, and even more, before some numbers (departed) are catching up with confirmed cases. It can even take 3-4 weeks.

I don't understand why people aren't taking this COVID-19 seriously, it baffles me, royally.
And many of these people are adults, with important jobs too.

Many people during the summer of 2020 remained skeptical about COVID-19 until the virus grew to a massive size, turned green, hovered into the sky, and began to wreak fiery havoc on the terrified humans below.

In Europe, authorities in northeast Spain ordered the lockdown of El Segria county around the city of Lleida, home to over 200,000 people, after health officials recorded a jump in 60 cases in 24 hours. The outbreaks are linked to agricultural workers in the rural area.

While in England, pubs and movie theatres reopened Saturday as part of Britain's biggest step toward post-outbreak normal.

In the Americas, France said it is sending medics to its South American territory of French Guiana, where infections have surged as the virus swept neighbouring Brazil.

In Brazil — which has the second most coronavirus infections and deaths in the world — churches opened in hard-hit Rio de Janeiro for the first time in almost 100 days. Hand sanitizer was distributed and temperatures checked as masses operated at 30 per cent capacity to ensure physical distancing.

The World Health Organization reported a record increase in global coronavirus cases on Saturday, with the total rising by 212,326 in 24 hours.

The biggest increases were from the United States, Brazil and India, according to a daily report. The previous WHO record for new cases was 189,077 on June 28. Deaths remained steady at about 5,000 a day.

Seriously, this is why I get so upset about this whole thing. Ok fine, we want to go out, have fun and live life a little bit? Ok fair enough... BUT WEAR A DAMN MASK AND KEEP SIX FEET DISTANCE!! That's it!! If you do BOTH of those things, I can't imagine why this virus would spread at such a wildfire pace. Two simple damn things to do and people are too stubborn to do it!! What is wrong with people??

Anthony you are from Montreal, I have few relatives and friends in Montreal and all over Quebec. My Mom lives in Laval. I am quite familiar with the situation in their neighborhoods. It's the toughest for my Mom because of that major outbreak in Laval before, in the nursing home. And I also know about the other major outbreaks before in Montreal, also in nursing homes.

Depending of where people live and their level of consciousness no one feels exactly the same. I know that for a fact as I am in constant communication with my entire family from various regions in Quebec and of course in Laval and in Montreal.

You personally and your friends who live in Montreal, what is the overall sense of the situation around you? Like on masks, self-distancing, grocery shopping, etc., and are people calm overall, and some edgy @ times?

P.S. I'm from BC myself, very close to Victoria on Vancouver Island.
It is overall quite quiet here, but still it took me two hours @ the bank few days ago.
There was a line outside the bank, about a dozen people plus few more inside the bank.
There was only one teller working, wearing a mask and cleaning the desk (sanitizing) after each customer. Then I got back to my car to find a ticket ($50) on my windshield...not a very good day. Everything is very slow and people are very different too. Most are very calm, only very few are wondering if they are safe...I cannot blame them.

I'm realistic and I know that this is for the long term, even when we think that things are getting better. Because Coronavirus is not on vacation, and doesn't intend to go on vacation either. It won't disappear like abracadabra ...

In my NYC neighborhood today, it's been nothing but blaring music and fireworks being illegally set off on the middle of the street. I feel I'm becoming one of those grouchy dudes that wants to scream "turn the music down" even though I like some of it.

On a regular day, I'll see 80-85% of people wearing masks.
Today it's about 50%, from my time outside.
Totally anecdotal.

Here we are in the COVID-19 zone, so that's what I like to read about. ...Opinions from the people right here; msny from the US, few from Canada, and few more from Brazil and Europe. This ain't no Maverick, this is real as real can be. It kills people, it kills jobs, it kills lifestyles, it kills freedom, it kills independence, it kills the economy (not yet because of stimulus), and it changes the landscape.

Some are doing ok though, Tesla, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, ...

Seeing and hearing the ppl at the city council meeting giving reasons for not wearing masks...something tells me the amoeba been around for a while.
