WHO sends experts to China to determine coronavirus origin / Friday, 10 July 2020

Quote:
Two World Health Organization experts were heading to the Chinese capital on Friday to lay the groundwork for a larger mission to investigate the origins of the coronavirus pandemic.

An animal health expert and an epidemiologist will meet Chinese counterparts in Beijing to set the "scope and terms of reference" for a WHO-led international mission aimed at learning how the virus jumped from animals to humans, a WHO statement said.

Scientists believe the virus may have originated in bats and was transmitted to another mammal such as a civet cat or an armadillo-like pangolin before being passed on to people.

A cluster of infections late last year focused initial attention on a fresh food market in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, but the discovery of earlier cases suggests the animal-to-human jump may have happened elsewhere.

More than 120 nations called for an investigation into the origins of the virus at the World Health Assembly in May. China has insisted that WHO lead the investigation and for it to wait until the pandemic is brought under control. The U.S., Brazil and India are continuing to see an increasing number of cases.

The last WHO coronavirus-specific mission to China was in February, after which the team's leader, Canadian doctor Bruce Aylward, praised China's containment efforts and information sharing. Canadian and American officials have since criticized him as being too lenient on China.

An Associated Press investigation showed that in January, WHO officials were privately frustrated over the lack of transparency and access in China, according to internal audio recordings. Their complaints included that China delayed releasing the genetic map, or genome, of the virus for more than a week after three different government labs had fully decoded the information.

Privately, top WHO leaders complained in meetings in the week of Jan. 6 that China was not sharing enough data to assess how effectively the virus spread between people or what risk it posed to the rest of the world, costing valuable time.

Fauci says he's sorry his worst-nightmare pandemic scenario is now reality

Quote:
"As an infectious-disease public-health person — I mean, there are a lot of other things in society that I worry about, but you don't want my opinion of that; let's talk about infectious diseases — is a respiratory-borne illness, that spreads rapidly, that's new — mainly there's no background immunity in the population. And that almost always turns out to be a brand-new pandemic influenza," Fauci said.

He added: "I do worry about that because when you have a respiratory illness that easily spreads, and has a high degree of morbidity and some degree of mortality, you could have a public-health catastrophe."

That's a spot-on prediction (aside from the influenza part), and Fauci feels bad about how right he was.

"I'm so sorry that I was so prescient when we had our last interview, Steve. I really am very sorry about that," Fauci said during this year's edition of The Hill's healthcare summit on Thursday. "When we had our conversation last year, I said this is what I would be most worried about. I'm so sorry that it occurred, and occurred so quickly after that interview."
* Penton mentioned it early this morning (posting a short video interview with Dr. Fauci, just above) ...

A 2,200 seat cinema at The Square Shopping Centre in Dublin has been closed permanently since Tuesday due to Covid-19.

https://www.thejournal.ie/tallaght-c...47092-Jul2020/

The other 20 IMC cinemas based in Ireland are not affected by the closure in Tallaght. 12 people have sadly lost their jobs.

I also watched a very good report & discussion last night about how Covid-19 is spread through aerosols and droplets in the air with 3 virologists on RTÉ's Prime Time.

https://www.rte.ie/news/primetime/20...-19-is-spread/

There was another brief discussion with a professor from John Hopkins University about how Covid-19 affects the brain.

Yes, we now know that it didn't work. Their health expert was under fire I believe, but he still holds firm on his strategy. Me I just don't know; I go with the data, something solid and concrete, not some hope based on vaporware like abracadabra gone like magic hocus pocus.

We've been through Sweden's strategy before; my brother for a while believe in it...till reality struck (the #s). We were both following closely. When the numbers became reality I was the first one to let him know; he had nothing to say.

Anders Tegnell has some hardcore fans, but also has expert scientists and leaders who don't agree with his strategy.
Again, me I look @ the data and I have no other choice but to dismiss his stratagem. It just didn't work, to the exact contrary.
_____

Right now I'm having an open eye on India and South Africa and also Indonesia.
I feel very sad about USA, Mexico, Brazil...South America...the Americas (North America - Canada).
We are talking Coronavirus people's overall attitude in facing it, from the forces, from the divisions.
It's those divisions between the expert scientists and the forces that brings us to our situation today.

We are starting to look @ it and see our grave mistakes. But the precious time we are still wasting in trying to put the blame would be best used to listen to the experts on viruses, the scientists, the epidemiologists, and act upon their recommendations...ASAP.
@ the pace we are now we are losing the battle ...

Any division, subversion, diversion from reality is a NO NO.

IMHO

It's protocol, formality in face of reality, facts.
...Anything to save the world, the face.

But for a vaccine to be truly working you need the real coordinates, the exact origins with the real data...the DNA, the genome, the composition, biological structure.
I think. That's probably why they send two guys in China...to check it out.
Plus the pressure put on WHO from the international community.

Anyway it's a real nasty situation we're all in today.
Man will learn greatly from it, or will he?
And it's only the beginning ...

You mean that they were among the banned 14 brands made in Mexico (toxic/deadly methanol content)?
* And $40 was a real ripoff for just few bottles.

It's very sad that some Mexican manufacturers don't have better ethics than that towards humans. I think. Their game is quick profits (money) @ the expense of lost lives. This is exploitation @ some of its very worst.
