NYC didnt have the testing capabilities that FL does today. if they did, Im sure NYC numbers would have been much higher as they were only testing people that were symptomatic typically. now people can get tested whenever they want for the most part in FL.

lets all hope the high number of deaths/hospitalization in FL dont surpass what happened in NYC.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue released the following statement:

As with the mass gathering ban, we understand that the legal rules are different when people are exercising their first amendment right to protest. But to be clear, people or businesses cannot pretend to have a protest just to escape mask enforcement. We will continue to issue notices of violation to businesses and individuals who are not wearing masks wherever the law requires, including inside buildings, or at businesses, or places of ongoing operation.

That's actually not true that the increased testing is causing the spike in FL. Because hospitalizations in FL are increasing at a significant rate.

totally understand that, thats not what i was saying.

i was saying that if the same number of tests were performed, NYC numbers would have been even higher. so, lets just hope the hospitalization/deaths in FL dont surpass NYC.

Last I heard, the regular flu season is not going to be canceled during the fall of 2020. I'm planning to get my flu vaccine at the end of summer, just I have done every year for the past two decades.

No, but flu cases should be much lower due to the covid restrictions in place, since they would also be the same mitigation measures to limit flu spread.

Last I checked, last Friday’s published OC’s public health figures, Huntington Beach has 1,357 cases, 4th highest in the county, less than 100 cases shy of 3rd place Garden Grove of which it’s neck and neck with.

The pathetic thing of the whole situation is that we in Cali sometimes have to deal with fires in our neighborhoods and when they do occur, I never heard a hint of residents disparaging their use as a protective measure -

Last Fall when I got the flu shot, the nurse bruised my arm. I hope the next person that gives me a shot does a better job...

Today I think I saw two people without a mask at my local gas station. When CLEARLY they have multiple signs basically saying to f*** off if you don't wear one.

Also later that day, I found out my nephew's father has the coronavirus. Have another family member with the virus as well, but never meet her and I'm not sure what she is to me.

A woman at a New Mexico store learned the hard way that when you call someone out for refusing to wear a mask. it can turn ugly and even violent.

In May, security cameras inside Bode’s General Store in Abiquiu caught a woman confronting a customer who refused to wear a mask. There’s no audio but you can see the maskless woman give her an open-handed shove to the face before storming out. The woman wearing a mask follows her out the door and keeps yelling at her.

“I understand why somebody would because we are looking at everybody’s health here,” says Al Yturralde.

I doubt that I'll be selected, because they are looking for people in high-risk circumstances (school teachers, nurses, grocery store workers, etc.), so that they can better verify if the vaccine is effective. For folks like me, who exercise social distancing and who can usually work from home, it'll be tough to tell if our lack of infection is due to the vaccine or due to our isolated lifestyles.

Still, it's worth a shot.
