Oh yeah, especially since many businesses are now closing permanently. This closing of businesses is doing way more damage than the virus itself. This is why I've been advocating for reopening safely. Seriously, ALL businesses in NYC should've opened by now. Don't forget, we reopened in June and never experience any sort of increase in new cases. We still kept going down. So, there's no reason why we couldn't phase the reopening of the remaining businesses, such as malls, indoor dining, museums, theaters, and gyms. If places like Home Depot and Costco can be packed, then it's quite silly that places likes malls and museums get punished and remain closed. It should be quite easy to maintain social distancing in museums and malls because they are large in size and people are spread out in those places. And if churches can open up and safely have services with limited people, then why can't theaters do the same?

About the line, "I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die," Cash said he wrote it while "Trying to think of the worst reason for killing another person. It did come to mind quite easily, though." He came up with the line after watching the 1951 movie Inside the Walls of Folsom Prison while serving in West Germany with the US Air Force. There is also a scene in Roy Del Ruth's 1949 film Red Light when Virginia Mayo's character Carla North tells George Raft's character John Torno, "I was with you in Reno last night when you nearly shot a man."

Well that theory of mine has been proven wrong. Many stores and indoor dining have opened since then and cases still consistently remain at below 1%.

If Fauci can keep changing his mind on things, then I should be allowed too.

56 people got the coronavirus at a Starbucks in South Korea. The only people who didn’t were employees wearing masks.

Quote:
At least 56 cases of the novel coronavirus in South Korea have been traced back to a Starbucks location in the city of Paju. Many customers were not wearing masks, and the poorly ventilated space likely contributed to the spread of the virus, according to local news.

But employees at the business were not infected, and experts believe it's because they were wearing masks.

Health officials said the outbreak originated from a single person infected with the virus who sat in the cafe next to the air conditioning system, which dispersed contagious aerosol particles throughout the space, according to Arirang News. The virus could also have spread as people touched contaminated surfaces such as tables and door handles, they said.

"Many of the visitors didn't wear masks, and there seems to be no proper air ventilation at the store even though air conditioners were in operation due to humid weather," Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) chief Jeong Eun-kyeong said of the outbreak, according to local media. "Even if infections did not occur via aerosol transmission, droplet transmission is also possible in a confined space, and the virus could have spread via hand contact."

The four employees working during the shift were not infected. Health officials said it's because staff consistently wore masks for the duration of their work hours.
I've said months ago that this could become more of a problem once places start to reopen - the poor ventilation, and the virus being carried from table to table in restaurants. It's happened previously in China.

Wish my co-workers who are poster children for how not to wear a mask could see that article.

I wonder what kind of masks they were wearing (cloth face covering don't stop aerosols, but they can limit the amount), and also wonder why the others were not wearing them (I thought Korea was serious about masks?)

Edit: I guess inside starbucks you have to take off the mask to drink coffee. I sure wouldn't hang there just for that though.

I don’t think you have to wear a mask anymore. I’ve been seeing quite a number of people outside lately without one. Yesterday, I even saw a mother and their children all strolling outside without masks on. I guess the pandemic is over.

I guess that's why you didn't wear one the other day in your building and everyone gave you dirty looks huh

That's because it takes 4 mins on average to say 'Triple soy, non-fat, extra hot, frappa crappa, light whip, with sprinkles'....when ordering.

"A study published Friday in the journal Cell suggests that everyone who gets COVID-19 — even people with mild or asymptomatic cases — develops T cells that can hunt down the coronavirus if they get exposed again later."

"The authors of the new study examined blood from 206 people in Sweden who had COVID-19 with varying degrees of severity. They found that regardless of whether a person had recovered from a mild or severe case, they still developed a robust T-cell response. Even coronavirus patients who did not test positive for antibodies developed memory T cells, the results showed.

Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, called T-cell studies like this one "good news."

"Both of those previous studies yielded a more surprising finding as well: Many people who've never gotten COVID-19 seem to have memory T cells that can recognize the new coronavirus."

"The likeliest explanation for these findings is a phenomenon called cross-reactivity: when T cells developed in response to another virus react to a similar but previously unknown pathogen. In this case, experts think these cross-reactive T cells likely come from previous exposure to other coronaviruses — those that cause common colds."

There is not enough concrete evidence either way but there is this. Chances are 5-20 times the number of people have been infected as reported. That means, as I'm sure I've said at least twice before, for most people, they're getting infected and nothing negative (as far as we know) is happening to them.

I definitely think that lends credibility to the argument that some people are already immune to the ill effects due to getting prior coronaviruses earlier in life.
