I would not wish this horrible infection upon anyone.
I would, however, advise people to comment upon this news very carefully as nothing will get you banned faster than arguing politics even in the general chat section of this website. |

Please use common sense and be civil and respectful toward fellow members. Discussing politicians who catch corona virus - whether it be President Trump or Prime Minister Johnson or whoever - is not considered political.
What makes the discussion political and bannable is cheering it, veering into rants about policies you don't like, soapboxing your political opinions, bashing one group or the other, celebrating anyone else's or another group's misfortune, posting veiled or subtle commentary for or against yours or other's political beliefs etc, etc. None of that belongs here in a blu-ray website. If you are unable to tell the difference or self-moderate your own posts, then just don't post. There are plenty of other more appropriate online venues you can seek out instead. Stay safe, y'all, and I hope we can all agree that having our President come down with corona virus is not a cause for anything except hopeful contemplation and prayer for our elected leaders, our country, and the rest of the world to get through this thing together. If you cannot do this, then please take a long look in the mirror. Last edited by oildude; 10-02-2020 at 07:12 PM. |

Shortness of breath is a common symptom, is it not? I've been sneezing a lot and and have had gastrointestinal issues but I don't feel short of breath and haven't lost my sense of smell (can't be sure about my sense of taste, though). Yesterday I briefly felt warm in the morning but not today. Now every time I get a common cold I'm going to think it's COVID

RTÉ News & BBC News NI has reported that Northern Ireland has seen a huge surge with a record amount of new Covid cases over the past 24 hours.
Out of 6,038 individual swabs tested by health authorities for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours; 1 in 6 of them have tested positive. That's a total of 934 positive cases. That's double the amount of cases from the previous 424 cases from only a couple of days ago on Monday I believe. That figure of 934 cases recorded today is also just 2 cases below the highest record figure of 936 cases recorded in The Republic of Ireland on April 23rd. Northern Ireland is now at 139.4 per 100k since today. It was at a rate of 69.5 per 100k from last week. The local areas with the highest per 100k over the past 7 days are as listed below. Derry City and Strabane 422.8 (It's the highest per 100k rate on the Island of Ireland with Lifford/Stranolar in Donegal & some areas of Dublin/Kildare not too far behind) Newry, Mourne & Down 213.7 Belfast 161.5 Mid Ulster 155.2 It appears likely that new cases are expected to soar to higher levels within the 3 weeks if they are not preparing to stop the rises in new cases now. If anyone who’s tested positive in the aforementioned outbreak (or for that matter, any of us not in the national spotlight) progresses from no symptoms/mild symptoms to needing hospitalization, this scoring is used by clinicians to assess mortality risk - https://isaric4c.net/risk/
Of course, 4C score does not gauge the risk for becoming a so-called ‘long hauler’ (“Most of the respondents were not hospitalized. Many did visit the ER/urgent care to seek treatment, but they were not admitted to or stayed overnight at a hospital” - https://patientresearchcovid19.com/research/report-1/ ), which is another issue altogether, but something to keep in mind for those so afflicted and their supportive family members, i.e. morbidity. |

rather than spouting off misinformation on certain networks regarding infectious diseases, the only thing he’s actually qualified to talk/advise about is neuro imaging, like so – https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...stract/2771362 Just this morning on Fox & Friends, no less, Chris Wallace commented on S.A. and the disservice he is doing. I’m uncertain if I can directly post the article/video here because it includes discussion of some attendees to the non-compliance of the Cleveland Clinic rules by some at the last debate, but, to the point, if people are interested more about S.A., then google - Chris Wallace tells viewers not to listen to COVID advisor Scott Atlas |
