Hmmm, something I posted was removed. Maybe it was perceived as a political statement but it wasn't one in any way. So I'll try again. I think a big problem is misinformation. I understand that a lot of people don't trust the news media but just buying into anything one reads online isn't necessarily the better alternative. As a result people don't take this as serious as they should. And that's why we are why we are. And the cooler temperatures aren't helping. Hopefully new restrictions will help globally or this winter will be brutal. I think tougher travel restrictions are almost inevitable too. Large family gatherings or large gatherings in general can't happen either. Well, we'll have to wait and see.

Indoor dining is already at 25%, I definitely agree with the latter part though.

If my oxygen saturation level is normal (98%), I don't have a fever (98.7 F), my sense of smell is intact and I'm not coughing, could I still have COVID?

You could, if it's still incubating (2-14 days, 5 days on average, and most people by 11 days), or if you're asymptomatic (you'll never get symptoms), or pre-symptomatic (you'll eventually get symptoms). Not really something to be concerned about at all unless you know you were directly exposed to it, just wear a mask.

I wear a mask religiously. Only pull it down when I'm eating/drinking or not around other people but last week I took someone up on an offer to dine at an eatery with outdoor seating. We were only there a few minutes but now I'm worried about it.

EDIT: Tested Negative. Phew!

I'm not saying he has Coronavirus; he may not! But unless he's tested, you won't know for sure. And that's the problem... with the change in weather, many people are getting sick with the cold and flu. And some who actually have Coronavirus probably may just brush it off as a cold and not keep their distance and thus, infect others.
not sure how anyone could just brush it off as a cold. even the biggest skeptic must have a sliver of doubt if they were to get a cold.

anyone who acts like that with a cold in todays environment is either a complete braindead moron oblivious to the world or is a complete scumbag.

would you be reacting the same way if this 89 year old cancer patient were to die of the flu? would you be frightened to death of the flu?

dude, get a grip

This is a cause for panic. People are dying and there's a chance people won't gain immunity to this disease. And immunity is crucial if we want to put an end to this pandemic once and for all. Hearing cases like this where people aren't gaining immunity is very disturbing.

if you actually do some research rather than reading clickbait headlines, youd realize that the chance of reinfection is EXTREMELY rare.

So why are we posting such articles?? What's the purpose of such information if it is not pertinent and might create unnecessary panic. If you don't want people like me to react in such a way, then DON'T POST SUCH ARTICLES.

I'm assuming people here would know better and would only post articles that are reliable and of importance.

And then people wonder why I feel attacked here. People get mad at me for reacting but don't get mad at the person who posted the article. Geez!

Unfortunately that's how modern media works, ethical integrity and responsibility in journalism is nearly dead. Their job is to get you to click on the article so they get ad-revenue. Headline first, story later (at best).

I get it, we shouldn't have to research and cross-reference news articles, they should be true and unbiased, but that's the world we live in. The pandemic has made TV news relevant again with daily updates and they don't want lose those views or clicks.

You're better off washing your hands, wearing a mask and social distancing and avoid deep-diving into news reports constantly, it's mentally deflating. Just find a local government site that will tell you facts about new restrictions, local and temporary lockdowns, so you don't get caught out travelling or using public transport.

I should question everything considering the inconsistencies we are getting on the news on a day to day basis. One day, it's like don't wear a mask. The next day, wear a mask. One day, close all businesses and keep people safe! The next day, don't close businesses completely since that will hurt us more than the virus. One day, a vaccine is coming in the Fall. The next day, a vaccine won't come until Spring to late 2021. One day, people are developing antibodies! The next day, oh no, people are getting reinfected.

Good Lord, the mixed news we've been getting is enough to drive me mad! No wonder why we can't get through this pandemic.

Some good news coming from NYC. It's appears the numbers of clusters there are beginning to level off.

When I made previous post about the apparent drop in clusters in NYC. I have just read this article about a super spreader sweet 16 party taking place in Long Island; NY on Sept 25th. 37 people were infected at the event at Miller Place Inn with 270 people being forced into self-isolation by authorities. The party broke the maximum capacity limit with 80 people attending it on the night. A maximum of 50 people were only allowed to attend parties in NY State under level Phase 4 restrictions.

https://www.rte.ie/news/coronavirus/...irus-new-york/

Wow. The people who have attended this party last night are a big bunch of idiots. Think of the damage that you have done to yourselves & to others.

Who would be attending this type of party while the restrictions were in force.
