That youtube is from early on in the pandemic.

Follow the CDC's guidelines. Indirect transmission / fomite transmission is very rare for this coronavirus. Outside of healthcare settings and the one condo in Florida's elevator buttons, there have been a minute amount of documented cases by indirect transmission.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...ars-cov-2.html

Or the WHO's guidelines.

edit: I see what you're saying now, mask adherence failure. I don't think that is common, it would be fomite transmission from messing with your mask, instead of breathing in droplets or airborne transmission.

It just makes it look like they care when really it's just virtue signaling. I'd be saying that even if I hadn't been laid off multiple times this year due to repeated closings of the business where I currently work.

Don't want to get the vaccine? Then you'll likely never be able to travel again...

Yup I sense heavy regulations coming to force people who don't want to get it to get vaccinated. Why I'm hoping for an A+ vaccine and not one that just got pushed through trials to have something to give people.

Ticketmaster won't let you into a concert:

https://www.billboard.com/articles/b...concerts-plan/

They'll probably get a few stragglers storming out in protest saying "I thought this was America!" but I think that comes with the territory.

Unfortunately, I think Ticketmaster is a few chess moves ahead and said the vaccine status is only good for one year...

Bars and dining in at restaurants are a very bad idea right now and should be avoided, by mandates if necessary. But I do agree that private gatherings are probably the biggest issue.

Some financial experts have already been floating the idea of paying every person $1,000 to get the vaccine, and I think that's a good idea. Sad that people have to be paid to do what's right, but we know many will not take it unless there's a strong incentive that they can immediate see. $100 ain't gonna cut it. But for $1,000, many who say no now will end up doing it. The die-hard anti-vaxxers still might not, but it will persuade your average Joe to take it. And it avoids using force or mandates. Instead, it's done with a positive spin instead of forcing people to take it.

Make it a requirement to get the next stimulus check. That works.

The problem with that idea is hopefully we'll be seeing the next stimulus checks early next year. It may be summer or fall before some people get the opportunity to get the vaccine. Remember, it won't be made available immediately to everyone. Logistics are a major concern due to the cold storage requirements, and it will be offered initially to medical professionals first. People shouldn't be denied their stimulus just because the vaccine hasn't reached them yet.

I have no problem though with insurance companies denying their medical claims for anything related to COVID-19 if they have refused to get the vaccine. Don't deny them medical care, but leave them on the hook for the bill. However, again logistics is a complication because we won't all have access to it at the same time. How will you know who refused it, and who hasn't had the chance yet to get it?

That is true, just trying to think of ways to make your "pay people $1000 to get vaccinated" idea work.

Wow, looks like the vaccine is scarier than I thought. Sounds like you might need to fight through fevers and body aches.

She’s done her share of APRV mode ventilation and proning patients, etc., hoping nobody at the CC will go on to need such measures –

as to your past post about how some Asian countries are handling the pandemic -

This is not the full picture:

Quote:
While he believes based on the science that it's likely that vaccine does prevent transmission, there's still no solid proof of that.
If it means the vaccine reduces the vast majority of cases to mild, then that's a win in my book. If this was no worse than a cold, nobody would care in the first place. The problem is people are dying from it and people are suffering long-term organ damage. If this can be reduced to effectively a cold or less, than that's a win. Also, he also said he believes it does prevent transmission and infection. We just don't have long-term data yet to prove it.
